All made very welcome.
Decided to book a table for 6
For Sunday lunch.
Good food Good friendly service
and staff.
I was staying over for a business trip. I left booking to the last minute so unfortunately not a lot of choice. |As I entered the pub, a drunk man fell into me. I ordered a chicken curry and went to my room. |I came back and the food was delivered (staff member was lovely).|The curry tasted awful and was very watery. The poppadum was dripping in fat. Naan was dry and tiny. |I didn’t eat the meal and went to my room. It was dirty; there was toilet roll in the toilet. The shower head didn’t stand up. The room was very dated and felt dirty. There were flies buzzing about too.|The TV didn’t work with the remote. And at 10pm a stench of some awful food smell just filled the room which made me feel sick. I put my head under the duvet and went to sleep as soon as I could so I could get out of there quickly in the morning!!
It seems a nice pub from outside, nice location. Staff are nice and friendly.
Drinks are fine, however the food is basic We had sunday dinner.
-Meat quality wasnt nice, lamb had no taste to it had blood vessel left in it.
-Roasties were ok same with veg.
-Yorkshires were frozen ones not even homemade
We had pudding... a waffle which is from aldi.
I was marshalling at nearby Donington Park and needed a local place to stay for the night. I wanted somewhere reasonably priced with, preferably, a pleasant bar. The Hardinge Arms exceeded my expectation.
I stayed in a twin room in the barn conversion. It was a good size for a twin and was warm and cozy. Perfect for my needs.
The bar was a lovely place to have a beer and the staff seemed genuinely happy to have you there.
Definitely worth considering if you are in the area. Perfect for Donington Park and the Airport.
A lovely pub with friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. Wood burner gave it a nice cosy feeling on a Sunday evening. I went here with my partner. We had a few drinks and did the pub quiz. Very friendly people. Would definitely visit again.
Overpriced worst Sunday lunch! |Went once and will never return - ever! |£15.99 - we were expecting a nice big plate of traditional Sunday comfort food. ||Oh hell no!!!! ||3 mingy (2 for the kids) very small roast potatoes so over cooked and hard, with any palatable potatoes inside ???? they felt like stones. Roast potatoes are part of the joy of a Sunday lunch! ||Well, not here…at…all! Lots of boiled new potatoes served, but I’ve never been served boiled new potatoes in my life. |Very small Yorkshire pudding |The beef was overdone and no questions asked how we like it cooked||There seemed to be quite a few dogs in there too. One or 2 but not 5+ Yuk! ????|Unsanitary and unhygienic. |Wine selection - very cheap wines.. ||And to top it off, we went with three children all under 10 and we waited for 40 minutes to be served and the restaurant was not full… what the heck! |Children started to get restless (as expected) even us as adults were like …”what are they doing in that kitchen?”||The chicken - served as a breast of chicken with no skin on - for those who had chicken looked grey, dry and unpalatable … ||The gravy was decent though and vegetable portions too but the rest ||Simply a disaster and we will never frequent there again for good. ||Avoid if you like and enjoy a PROPER Sunday roast and don’t want to walk out like a skeleton having to wait so long! ||Avoid! |
Great pub and restaurant. Very friendly staff good service. Also, a bonus is the beer is excellent
Visited here for my birthday meal. From the moment we walked in, we were made to feel very welcome. It's such a lovely, cosy, clean and warm pub with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Tracey is probably the most attentive, relaxed & kindest landlady we have ever met. She really is the most friendly, chatty and all round genuine lady. Her and her partner/ husband made us feel like one of the pub family...it was so nice to feel so welcomed on our 1st ever visit. There was a great selection of starters, mains and desserts to suit every dietary requirement. The restaurant area itself is nicely laid out to make good use of the space but still allow room around each table. The restaurant is kept so very clean and Tracey was so careful to clean well after other dinners had vacated their table. Our food was absolutely delicious & such generous portions. The timing between our 3 courses was perfect and the food was cooked exactly as requested. The food was presented well, served hot, freshly cooked & of good quality. The triple cooked chips where soooo good (hubby ate his and most of mine too ????). We would highly recommend the chicken wings starter, the fillet steak main and the homemade desserts of apple crumble and chocolate Brownie fudge cake. The value for money here is exceptional as the prices are very reasonable (especially considering the price of food and fuel). Thank you so much to Tracey, her hubby, the chef and all the other kitchen staff for such a great birthday evening.
We Highly recommend eatting here...but do try book in advance as its very popular.
