The Green Goat is outside of the city commotion so it made for the perfect place to get away and have a nice meal. The service was quick and our server was friendly. The food however, was nothing out of this world. I got the southwest salad and it just ended up tasting like some pre-made salad you would get at a grocery store. The breaded-fried chicken was the most disappointing because it literally could have been chopped up chicken nuggets from the freezer. I would go back for the atmosphere! Maybe some dishes are better than others.
Great pet friendly restaurant with a nice patio for our pup to enjoy the evening as well.
We were seated promptly, and the food came fast.
I had the derail wrap and my husband the fish and chips. They were both very tasty.
Our waitress was very friendly and very loving toward our dog Luna. She brought Luna a water bowl as soon as we got there. We appreciate your pet friendly deck. If we visit Roanoke again, we'll definitely stop by again.
We love the Goat! They have tasty cocktails, nice outdoor seating, and the staff are great. The pizza is phenomenal. It has a light, fluffy crust with high quality toppings. The Goat pizza, with ham, bacon, brie, and apples is amazing!
Went there with a group of children. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. They also had another large group at the same time as ours. Our waitress did an amazing job balancing both parties. No errors with the orders and still able to handle all. Meet the owner and he was very engaging, answered all our questions and even went into the history of the restaurant.
The food was delicious. Will definitely come back to enjoy the ambiance and atmosphere this place offers.
The Green Goat is a place you just need to know is here or know someone who tells you about it. No signs point you here, but once you arrive, it’s a nice and quaint spot. Overall, the restaurant visit was good. Food was good and service was good. Both of which were marginally above average. The vibe is what makes it.
This was such a cool find last month! Housed in a historic railroad building, it’s a moment off of the beaten path and well worth it.
It seemed like the hostess was having a bad night, but our server, food and drinks more than made up for it. Casual atmosphere, great location. We will definitely be back the next time we are in town.
After multiple group outings here, I must say this restaurant has GRIT. The servers work hard, the kitchen works hard, and the bartenders work hard.
My best advice for a visit is to NOT expect anything to move quickly, take your time with drinks and food, and enjoy the outdoor seating. The pizza sauce is lovely, and as food for kids go, you cannot beat the price and the portion size. The alcohol is always strong, and the place is always clean.
One of the best restaurants in the area also has a lovely bar. Service makes you feel at home. And everything I've had on the menu in the several times I've been there has been great. They have lovely outside good for idling away hours sipping on a beer with friends
