Just had a meal here on way to rollright stones. Wow, food was amazing! I had fish and chips and I can honestly say it was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had and my hubby had steak and he said it was delicious. We both give the meal 10/10! Highly recommend.
Arrived here late on a Tuesday evening after being for covid jabs in chipping Norton, thought we'd stop in on way back. They were really kind and told us if we got our order in quickly they'd process it before a large group who were gradually arriving at the same time. Nice food, my partner had a burger which was massive and tasty. Great service, we will be back
We went for a family meal pre booked two weeks ago , upon arrival we was shown to our table , immediately I noticed there was not a single waiting staff wearing face mask , gloves or anything ! This made me feel uncomfortable from the off . Our drinks orders were taken promptly as was out food order . The food wasn’t bad with exception of the fish , two of the guest did not finish it . The very same guest also ordered some garlic bread which did not even arrive . What was very unprofessional was being asked to pass out plates down the table when the server could of quite easily done it herself , and if it because of Covid then they should try using mask ! After finishing our meal we waited a good 15 minutes before the plates were taken away , yes there was a large booking at the top of the hall however this took all the staff and the other tables suffered as a result . The restaurant felt like a church hall as it was very loud to the point I waited in the car . I have to say it annoys me when a restaurant says” it’s because we are busy” that has to be the most overused excuse , a restaurant should be able to manage its seating capacity and leave the customer happy . Oh the small print also says compulsory service charge . No service charge is compulsory if the service is poor
Very nice pub and very handy for the campsite next door where we were staying. Good choice of local ales and the food was very good.
We had the "toad in the hole" which is unusual in a pub these days and two very nice desserts.
Nice atmosphere throughout, with a lovely wood burner in the restaurant and the service matched the food so we would certainly be happy to go again if we are ever in the area.
Can only speak for the restaurant side of things, but the dinner I had here years ago still ranks as the best meal I've had in my life. Burgers do not come any better, and I remember having some of the ice cream, and even boring flavours like vanilla were done so astounding well with such depth of taste. I recall service being great and prices being fair. My commendation does not come any higher.
Tasty food, friendly staff, nice location with a bit of camping too.
Beer local, fresh and well kept, a limited selection of quality draught beers rather than a bar-long length of average ones.
The food as you can see from the picture is straightforward but very nicely done.
Dogs welcome too. :-)
Will visit again when we're back in the Cotswolds...
Lovely little pub, been here for a couple of weekends this summer and I’ve loved every minute. The staff and management are absolutely great and I’ve found that the locals are super friendly! The food is absolutely lovely and the drinks are well priced, it’s a shame they don’t offer breakfast though because I’d definitely treat myself to that as well!
The camping ground is one of the best pub ones that I have been to, it’s nice and quiet and the toilets and showers are really clean! Definitely recommend a stay!
We loved camping here, it's quite rocky undr the grass so buy strong pegs, but that is probably the only bad thing I can say about this site. The showers and toilets were clean and regularly checked. We only popped into the bar for one drink but it's quite close to the towns and supermarkets. Really helpful and pleasent owners. Would definitely come back here, especially for the price. The kids loved it ❤️
