Have been coming here from time to time for business meetings. Top Hat restaurant very comfortable, well furnished, with good food and service. Helpful staff, and not far from local colleges, if you are planning a college tour trip. Nice architectural details, very dignified.|
The Grand Summit Hotel made a quick overnight NYC trip perfect. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The staff was friendly and always helpful. The super clean and elegant rooms are amazing and very comfortable to stay in. There is complementary self parking which is next to the hotel (about a 30 second walk) and complimentary WiFi which is always helpful. We will always be returning to this hotel whether we visit New Jersey or New York City.
I’ve lived near this hotel all of my life and have been at many functions there. Having recently moved, I decided to stay for a trip home in September. I was shocked to see how the hotel has deteriorated. Our room was awful and poorly maintained, the air conditioning vent was filthy, housekeeping never attended to the room. Complaints to management were ignored. The staff seems generally unhappy and unfriendly. The new owners clearly have no respect for this long standing business and its guests.
The hotel is being renovated so it is in a bit of a transition. Some things are very new and others very dated. Our room while small was newly redone and very nice and clean with so many options for charging ALL your devices. My one complaint was that the housekeeping staff started cleaning the room next to ours around 8:30am (which seems much earlier than other hotels we have stayed at). They didn't seem to care in the least that guests might be still asleep as they banged around cleaning the room and talking loudly to each other. We would have really enjoyed another 30-60 minutes of sleep.
Positive: Great location. but venue is under massive renovation ¿ breakfast available from a food truck. Negative: See above ¿ a hefty price for a rough encounter ¿ the ladies at the front desk did their best but¿. Negative: ""
The most unfriendly check in- team I have ever experienced in 40 years of business travel. Room was clean and then I got my wake up call at 7am on Monday morning with construction ( jack hammers ) on the floor beneath me. Nobody at the front desk cared and they offered meaningless bland insincere apologies. I was out of the hotel by 7.30am.The manager (Adam) did call me later to apologize. The front office staff needs lots of training in being welcoming , guest friendly and co-operative to resolve a situation. Of course , no warning in advance on check in of the massive construction projection or having the initiative to place me in a wing of the hotel away from the noise.
Very disappointed. The person who checked me in, did not even look at me and never smiled. Very unfriendly. The room itself is clean, but very sterile and cold feeling. There is a musty smell that pervades the room. There are no brochures anywhere saying what the hotel offers in terms of eating or amenities or even Wi-Fi access. I don’t recommend this hotel. They could make it good, and I hope they do.
A large extended family group of 25+ stayed at The Summit last weekend and we could not have been happier. Desiree at the front desk, a few days before we arrived, warmly assisted in putting rooms close together. (She she was wonderful the days we were there too, easily linking reservations and helping two of us who decided to add on an extra night.) The hotel is beautiful, historic, well located, has comfy beds and comes with breakfast. One night our group ordered pizza and Michelle (the evening front desk person) made sure we had tables and space. Our whole group loved this hotel!
