We called in at dinnertime today 10 July 23. The last time we called it was a god chippy with lovely lightly battered fish TODAY It was bloody awful! , a woman was cooking and serving, the two lightly battered fish had been sliced so thinly you could nearly see through them! And the batter was hard, overcooked , chips were awful tasted as if they were warmed up, and at £5 per fish??? And large chips £3, odd come on that certainly is daylight robbery, what on earth are you playing at, shocking

After visiting tonight will be our last.
The lady serving was visibly outside the back having a break, she then walked straight in to serve without washing her dirty hands. Basic hygiene .
Not good...sadly...used to be good .But Chips were as if they'd been re heated... Fish not nice... Fish Chips Peas & Curry was £11.00 ... Not a cheap meal for one person at all... disappointed ???? ...not sure why it's gone so bad .. sign of the Times?
Usually OK fish and chip shop. Went this lunch about 12.10pm. Had fish only. Fish not good because not freshly fried and dried at edges. Batter soggy. If you can't do fish well in fish and chip shop then give up. If you are trying to sell off yesterday's fish don't take your customers for mugs. Sorry but you are in a competitive market and I will take my business elsewhere.
Would give a 0* if I could. Asked for a cheese and onion pie (we are vegetarians) and when we got home I realised they had given me a meat pie. We took it back for the woman to say we were in the wrong because we said meat pie. We have been veggies for 10+ years so we know this didn’t happen. SO rude. No apology from the woman either. Cheese and onion pie wasn’t great either
Good food at reasonable prices,staff are friendly and helpful.
Returned back on recommendation of work colleague.
Still the same dour staff, but the fish was very good, not freshly cooked as they were getting near to closing (last half hour) but still really enjoyed it.
I'll be going back
After a second return, I've updated my review.
Even though new fish were being battered, my request for a lightly battered fish was rebuffed, "as they did not have time to mess about"
I'm sorry I thought I was the customer, and they were there to give you what you wanted.
Unbelievably rude. ILL NEVER RETURN!!
There's better places to spend my money
