Best KPortal Reviews
The French Press...a great breakfast place. There is no table service. You order at the counter from a wide array of menu options that include breakfast and lunch. You then have to wait for an open table and grab it...which can be a bit frustrating. But once they bring your meal and you thoroughly enjoy it, you will realize it is worth the little bit of inconvenience. There is a decent size patio facing the street which is nice on a sunny day, if you dont mind traffic noise interfering with your conversation. The interior feels a bit cramped especially during peak hours and it could use a little makeover. The prices are good, the coffee is better.
Very busy little shop. Really long line to order, but the food didn't take long after. We were lucky to find a table, they do have a patio that's where we sat, however it's a busy intersection and very noisy. Food was delicious I got a regular bennie and my husband got a veggie one and I would order again, so good! Regular bennie was great portion and very filling, my husband wished he would of gotten that one instead, the regular comes with potatoes but the veggie doesn't, we thought that was odd. I always order black coffee to try to see how the real flavor is and I'm a little disappointed in theirs it's very bitter, not sure I would order again.
My first visit to this location. I chose the "All American" breakfast. The entire plate was great. Too often, this style potatoes are under cooked. The eggs, bacon and toast are excellent.
After dropping off a friend at the airport, my friend and I looked for a good breakfast spot. We found this place on Yelp. It's a sit-down restaurant, but you order your food before picking a table. The menu is on the wall with lots of tasty options. We both chose the old-school huevos rancheros and the coffee special of the day. After ordering, we got a number and picked a table. It was a bit busy because of Memorial Day. Our food came out in 15 minutes, and our iced coffees arrived just before. The presentation was nice, and the meal tasted great. The huevos rancheros reminded me of my childhood, with excellent flavor and perfectly cooked eggs. The potatoes added a nice texture. Overall, this place was fantastic, and I look forward to coming back.
Great food as always with fantastic service! They have a pretty diverse menu with quite a few options and it always comes out fresh and hot. A hidden gem when you're looking for something simple and relaxing.
First time going and food was really good. Got the white chocolate macadamia pancakes. The ham was a bit thin like deli meat but I liked it and will go back. The place is kinda small so getting a table is iffy.
This place is as busy as it gets and for good reasons. Large menu, fast service, and friendly staff. The food is good but not great. Portion size is decent. Most days if you come during peak hours, there may be a wait time. Kid friendly and plenty of parking space.
2023: Updated review to include dining at The French Press
3 stars
Eager to savor the vegan biscuits and gravy once more, I stopped by to dine in this time. The service was friendly, but the prices were notably high. While the biscuits and gravy were enjoyable, the overall experience was overshadowed by noticeable uncleanliness. The sauce holder at our table was stuck to the counter, creating discomfort. Sadly, chipped and dirty-looking coffee mugs further detracted from the potential charm of the place. Despite its regular following, cleanliness issues need addressing for a truly enjoyable dining atmosphere.
2022 Review: Delivery 4 stars
I've been craving biscuits and gravy, but being a vegan, the only way I'm going to eat biscuits and gravy, is to basically make them myself. Neither is an easy task to create. Hence the procrastination and continued craving.
I recently took a trip to Denver to visit my grandma. When we looked at different places to order for delivery, I found The French Press. Once I saw vegan biscuits and gravy on their menu, that sealed the deal.
I ordered: Vegan Biscuits & Gravy, a side of Fruit Salad and a Mocha Latte with Oat Milk.
The vegan biscuits and gravy came with potatoes, collard greens and tomatoes. The collard greens were cooked well and had a hint of heat. The stewed tomatoes were perfect for acidity. The potatoes were okay. I liked the seasoning, but some of them were chewy and overcooked. But. That. Gravy! I could have ate it by the spoonfuls, and maybe I did! It tasted just as I remember gravy tasting. I don't know how they made it, but wow. The biscuits were soft and a great base to soak up the gravy.
Overall this dish was exactly what I was looking for. It had a good balance of flavors, was fun to eat, and it brought me much comfort
I liked that the fruit was cut in small and similar proportions. It also tasted fresh.
They were not stingy on the chocolate sauce for the mocha latte. It almost tasted like a chocolate milk which is good! I was also impressed that it was still hot by the time it got to me.
I'll definitely be back during my next Colorado trip!
