Delicious and very tasty food, and extremely kind workers (and the owner is amazing)! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone passing by. They have very cool milkshakes as well.
Great experience! Hands down best French onion soup I've ever had! The texture of Chef Larry's chicken croquettes wasn't my thing, but the flavor was good.
Visit to The Dining Car
It’s a Saturday so it is very busy. The hostess appeared frustrated. The kitchen was behind and we had to wait a bit longer for a booth. Mina waited on us today. She is very sweet , polite, & patient.
We ordered diner coffee (1) the black cups were different and old. Lemon was old and the dish the bowl they gave it in was dirty with some green food still on it. We switched 3 sugar jars because they had foreign objects or dirty rocks in them.
We ordered Bacon Fried Egg & Cheese on Rye. (2) and Grits, Fried Egg and Toast (1). We would have given it a score higher if the food was not served to us cold!! The Apple Pie A La Mode was very BLAND (1). But may be perfect for someone may be Diabetic. If you happen to be in the neighborhood, check them out. Hopefully you don’t have the same experience we had.
Trish and Colleen make this place shine the entire staff there are extremely professional and courteous from the moment you walk into the place you know you’re at a local diner and the food never leste you down! The chicken pot pie special was absolutely perfect. Piping hot from the broiler to the table. The iced tea is oracle the best I’ve ever had at any place that being a statement the way it’s brewed makes sense it’s consistent. Also the slice of carrot cake I had was amazing. Moist and super creamy. Everything on this menu has been vetted, the chicken croquette’s are delicious. Come and see for

Layout/atmosphere
*Black & chrome exterior; after entrance to the left is the bakery before entering the diner itself; counter straight back and to the right; mostly booths to the right; booths and tables to the left; parking lot in the back
Service
*Friendly waitress (Amy)
Food/drink
*Old Fashion Chipped Beef (only toast - white) - G; tender meat; the sauce/gravy was creamy without being heavy
*Apple Walnut Stuffed French Toast (homemade apple bread stuffed with apple walnut cream cheese and topped with cinnamon powdered sugar) - very good; airy bread; enough sweetness so no need to add butter or syrup
This is one of the highest rated diners in Philly so we decided to visit. The diner has a bakery attached so you can pick up sweets without having to enter through or wait in the diner which is a less common setup and much appreciated. We were seated really quickly by the hostess who was really upbeat (didn’t catch her name). Our server, Courtney, was very attentive and friendly. Both the hostess and server made up for the initial awkwardness of walking into establishments in this part of Philly (which we refer to as Trump town) if you’re a Black person. This time, it wasn’t the business or the employees and solely the patrons. The food was above diner standards and they had a variety of choices you don’t typically see like the house made apple bread stuffed French toast.
Usually, we are fans of diner breakfast experience, but this one was a huge mistake!
I wouldn't recommend it.
First service, waitress was absolutely not attentive to my order, she was super slow, and I never received my coffee refill, nor we were asked if evth was okay.
Second, food taste and quality. Our order took forever to be delivered to our table. Food was tasteless and absolutely terrible. I quite honestly don't remember the last time I had such a bad breakfast.
We ended up paying $43 bill and leaving hungry. Terrible experience.
I ordered a BLT with fries and it had to be the biggest BLT I have ever gotten from a diner. Our waitress was super attentive and kind. It is always busy there and I can see why. The food is delicious and the service is awesome! Definitely recommend you try them!
