Best KPortal Reviews
Having heard good things about this restaurant I decided to pay a visit and see if it was up to the hype given.
Turns out it was.
The Dine Yard is situated within Waterbourne Walk. It is currently takeaway only due to covid times but it appears it will be a sit down restaurant once covid restrictions are lifted.
We booked for pick up at around 1830. Due to the popularity of the place a booking is required well in advance on the weekend to get a slot, a testament to how popular this restaurant is.
Arriving around 5 minutes early I have entered the venue which had around 4 other customers waiting. I was asked if I had preordained upon entering and when my name was given I was told my food would be ready shortly.
The restaurant is very rough and ready at the moment with the future dining area currently unbuilt. Most of the decor is up in the wall and it looks present and has the feeling of an upmarket American diner about it.
While waiting for my food I saw a number of burgers being put up to the pass which all looked delicious. A number of milkshakes were also made, the noise from the machine is horrendous but the end results looked moreish.
My food wad then given to me in a large paper bag and off I went.
After the 5 minute drive home the food was still piping hot.
The first dish was a set of 12 sticky Korean wings. By far my favorite of the dishes these wings were sticky sweet with a hint of chilli from the toppings put on. There was plenty of sauce to go around, the chicken was moist and the coating crispy. Absolutely delicious.
The second dish was again a set of wings but this time with classic buffalo. Again a chicken itself was moist with a crispy coating and plenty of sauce which had a nice kick. These wings went very well with the blue cheese dip we also got.
We also purchased a chicken burger with a Buzzard BBQ coating on it. Placed inside a briosh bun this was also very good with a nice subtle smoky flavour running through. The buns did kind of disintegrate being covered in sauce but at this point my hands were already covered in the mess from the wings I really didn't care.
We also had two sets of loaded fries, one of which was sweet potato. Covered in a rich nacho style melted cheese and with an array of toppings these chips were awesome for the most part. The only downside was the sweet potato fries were underdone but given how awesome the rest of the food was this can be forgiven.
Please see attached photographs for a mouth watering view of the food!
The store does also have a membership scheme that gives money off (10/15%) avalible at £35. Would I buy this? Probably not, it's very expensive for the benefits it offers but if you were going multiple times a week it may be a worthwhile investment.
Overall I have to say this was probably the best wing establishment I have been too (Probably better than Thunderbird Chicken in London, my now previous favourite wing place (sorry Thunderbird Chicken)).
Is it expensive? Yes, I'm not going to lie it is on the expensive side. However the quality of food they are dishing out is well worth the money.
Will I revisit? Absolutely.
My recommendation: Sticky Korean Wings ????
We ordered via the Uber Eats app. Food arrived on time and was still warm. We especially enjoyed the loaded fries. Burger was tasty, but not very big.
Hmm, first time trying this, decent menu, nice lady on the front desk. The food…. Well. The loaded fries were pretty nice. The boneless buffalo wings were quite nice, but the one thing I was looking forward to was there smash burgers… total let down. Smash is not a word you add to the name of a burger to sound cool because it’s the in thing. It’s the style of burger. Usually fresh meat rolled into a ball and squashed about 0.5 cm in thickness and quickly fried. This was not a smash burger. It seemed like it was a frozen burger. Just a normal quarter pounder. Box laden with a pool of grease, I slither of lettuce and what I think used to be the bottom bun ( before it absorbed into a he grease ). All in all a bit of a let down. Maybe just chef does not know what he is doing?
When this place first opened, the chicken was great. Everything was outstanding.
However, in recent times - things have gone seriously downhill. The chicken is basically now popcorn chicken. Literally tiny, tiny pathetic pieces of chicken that still apparently count as 'pieces'. We have brought this to their attention multiple times and each time were told that one of their chefs cut the chicken smaller and it was a mistake. But it's not true, they're just charging the same money and cutting the chicken smaller and smaller until there is basically no chicken left inside.
I upload a picture for proof. This 'piece' is smaller than a fork. I kid you not, this picture is real.
Stop telling fibs to your customers and get your product back on track to the quality that it was when you started.
Not ordering from here anymore it's just so annoying.
Great Tasting Food -THE WORST - SHOCKING SERVICE!
We have used this place 4/5 time and on 2 occasions they have completely messed up our orders. Their delivery service is absolutely shocking, drivers are not given adequate instruction or direction from the take away. Last night with a £52 order the first delivery was completely wrong and stone cold anyway, the second after a two hour total wait was missing three items worth £20 and still pretty cold when we received it! I am not saying don't use them but take my advice go and pick up your order and check everything before leaving the shop - this experience destroyed a perfect evening with family - we wont be ordering again.
Have tried so many times with these guys, because when its right, the food is great. But disappointed once again. Tonight’s fries were cold and soggy, the chicken had to be reheated and the Milkshakes were only a half full as all the ice cream had melted and the cream had disappeared. If you collect, I guess it might be better, but don’t bother via Uber Eats. That’s £40 wasted!
I've eaten in and had it delivered. Arrived hot and on time. Great flavours, fresh and presented really well. The burgers, hot dogs, ribs, wings and fries are all amazing. Working my way through the menu!
Decided to order from here after reading the reviews..... The double smash burger was a delight to eat along with the regular fries (we came back for loaded fries the next day as well). As a side, we decided to have their buffalo wings (it’s definitely a main) which hit the spot. It’s fully of flavour and the wings a very meaty.
To wash it down we had the kinder bueno shake....lush
Would definitely recommend for those who are looking for a burger or wings fix....
