Best KPortal Reviews
The food and drinks are good, but it is on the expensive side. Ambience is very nice. And the service is good. And the seats are very comfortable. The booths are really nice and cozy and there are some that you can draw curtains for privacy. Fish and chips $25 are really good as the batter is light and fluffy and the inside fish looks like fluffy cod. It's very flaky and well done and it beat Bobby Flay in 2019. The french fries were very light and crispy and the pizza $25 had a lot of flavor and it was very thin like New York style, which I love, and there was cornmeal of some sort on the bottom so it made it crispy. The pizza can be shared by two people easily. The beignets are good. Were a little crispy on the outside very soft a tiny bit chewy and soft on the inside with Nutella sauce on the side. This area is perfect for tourists as well as for people who go to the shows. But parking is a hassle. Just take the train. Oh and there's live music on Sundays from 12-2pm. Really lovely!
We went there at 4 without a reservation, and the staff were kind enough to find us a table for just 1 hour, because they have other reservations.
We ordered:
Ceviche: 7\10
Burrata: 7\10
Dearborn burger: 5\10 (I had high hopes for this one)
Fish and ships: 7\10
Alaskan halibut Provencal 7\10
Baby kale& wild mushroom 7\10
1\2 roasted Amish chicken 10\10 ( it came with mashed potato which is also 10\10)
The food was not bad, don't get me wrong, but it was nothing special compared to the prices they are advertising themselves to serve.
The staff were nice, but we ordered a bottle of sparkling water, and they didn't bring it or even remembering it. When we asked for the check, we reminded them that it never arrived. (There were a good number of staff, but a couple of them are just talking to each other's, and they are trying to avoid looking at the tables haha).
The vibes were nice but also nothing special.
I don't regret coming but I won't come back.
It was good. We ordered burger, omelet and chicken.
The food was fairly delicious. Good and fresh stuff. I asked for Keto friendly and not too much oily and fried. The suggestion was good.
The service was excellent.
The atmosphere is delightful.
Recommend.
Very busy place right in the heart of all the Chicago action serving delightful versions of some American standards. Super flavorful ceviche and excellent fish and chips. The fish was a cooked-to-perfection fillet of Icelandic cod, served with fries and ketchup. The remoulade was delicious. Tip: Get the Japanese curry on the side, you won’t regret it!
I stopped in after a show at the Chicago theater. It was in super close proximity and the perfect end to my night. I got the fish and chips with truffle fries and it slapped like a mf. It was so good. Probably the best fish and chips I ever had. I started with a Caesar salad and their tuna tartare. All were very good. Whitney was my server and shoutout to her because she was super nice. I’d highly recommend dropping by if you’re in the area.
Upscale pubish food in Westloop. Stylish interior with prompt and professional servers. Really enjoyed the curry chicken and my partner enjoyed the Halibut crock pot. Truffle fries and ceviche were also excellent.
The fish and chips were definitely the highlight paired with the Japanese curry. The meze plate was also a great appetizer. The burger Wellington and the Midwest fried chicken were average. Chicken was a little dry and the sauces weren't memorable. Brussels sprouts were good but a bit bitter. Service could have been more attentive as there were long stretches of time where our server wasn't around. Overall pretty average for the price and location.
Okay, so yes the prices are expensive but being in Chicago it’s very standard. We came here to celebrate a special occasion. They gave us free champagne. Service was superb. The whole restaurant looked classy. I recommend setting up a reservation just in case. We ordered the Midwest fried chicken and the Dearborn burger. The fried chicken was crispy, flavorful from the buttermilk and maple/mustard glaze, and a slight heat from the hot sauce. You have to try it at least once. The burger was easily one of my favorites and I had a lot of burgers. I ordered it medium rare so the meat just melted into my mouth. Meat was great quality. The Wisconsin cheddar and the special sauce increased the overall delish scale.
