I really want to give this place 5 stars but I just can’t. The atmosphere and the coffee are great, but the food is just a miss. I have tried it on 5 different occasions with breakfast and lunch foods. I am not a picky eater by any means. The pancakes weren’t cooked through twice, eggs under seasoned, home fries were hard, a salad was severely underdressed and was mostly lettuce. I will only come here for coffee from now on.
I enjoy coming to the Dam Cafe. It is a great atmosphere to get a nice breakfast and get some work done on my laptop. It is busy but never overcrowded. The breakfast options don’t always look appealing but they do taste great! I have unfortunately not tried the bakery options, but those who have ensure they are worth it! It is not too pricey and you feel like you get what you pay for.
Definitely a gem in holyoke! iced coffee’s are superb! The food is served in pretty big servings so if you are a light eater (like me) might want to stick with bagel or croissant sandwiches. Pretty big inside and it also has outdoor seating.
Staff is very nice and knowledgeable. Definitely will be back again!
This family owned coffee shop is by far the best around. If you want real coffee and breakfast or lunch, please visit them. Great customer service and a very clean place. Love this place!! ???? ????
Large portions but maybe it was an off day my eggs burnt my potatoes weren't cooked all the way Imy meal came with toast who eats the ends of the bread normally you trow that part a way because rhoes pieces are smaller than the others and then throw a big gob of butter on my toast, I get 2 plate size pan cakes and you get 1/3of a cup of syrup. Also I see sometimes they would deliver food to tables and some times they would call you up to pick up your own food. No one was wiping off tables after patrons would sit down. And leave
Came here on a whim due to being in the area. I was told about it. Glad i went. Went for breakfast AND lunch in the same day. Had the breakfast burrito for breakfast, which was great, and then a special for lunch, which was a chicken parm cutlet with fries. Easy to get to. Off street and a parking lot. Very friendly service. It looked like there were regulars, workers new some names and orders of the people that were there in the morning. Speaks to the diligence of the workers and the comforting atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Did not get to try the sweets, but ill be passing through in a couple weeks and plan on making the stop.
Typical cafe...asked for hot water to make my own tea after purchasing multiple other items, and only after sitting back down did the manager (who watched the exchange at the register) come over and tell me I had to either pay the menu price for tea or leave.
I understand not wanting an outside product, i just wish I'd been told at the register so I could have avoided the issue and enjoyed with the products I'd already purchased instead of being told to leave or pay $4 for hot water.
There are plenty of other cafe's with managers who don't go out of their way to turn small misunderstandings into making customers feel unwelcomed.
I know, I know, Local small business and I want to LOVE this place... and while the service is great, atmosphere is relaxing, the food just isn't that great. I've had breakfast here 3x and while the prices are super affordable, it's just OK. The muffins are way too sweet and cakey, the home fries are overcooked and dry, the bacon is very well done (which is how I like it but if you don't- ask for it done less... weirdo lol), coffee is good, Italian sodas are good. I'd be curious to try dinner here but they close at 3pm weekdays and 2pm weekends. Do they do dinner for breakfast? I can only hope!
