Beautiful traditional Inn! Found off a hiking route Loved the Sunday roast, my friend had a scrumptious tuna steak. Hidden gem in the Costworlds, with a welcoming family ambience & warm host. Will definitely recommend.
Lovely warm welcome cosy pub atmosphere great food. We like the good selection of beers cider and wine... and the cutest pub dog Ben. Pub garden is good size and one of our favourite local Cotswold walks on the doorstep.
Lovely place, typical English pub in Cotswolds. Really appreciating the beer garden in a sunny day ????????????
We had a fabulous lunch for 4 people, the food was superb. Lovely choice of local beers/cider. Nice building full of character. The staff were very attentive. Will definitely be going back. We all really enjoyed the Craven Arms. Thank you.
Lovely food in a traditional Cotswold pub. Baguettes were very large, a little dry and, for my taste, a little bland (but I like my cheese strong). I think the added a service charge to the bill, which made it expensive. The Craven Arms is in a lovely setting, and the dining area has been improved no end since my last visit, without spoiling the characterof the place. Good service too! Our group certainly enjoyed our lunch at the pub.
Very cosy, warm and welcoming oldie worldy pub.
Staff and landlady very friendly and helpful.
And food is second to none.
Also offers Wi-Fi ????
Picture is not great as taken from my window!!
I'd give it 3.5.
The good bits - nice inside, well presented and very tasty food, serving staff were good, decent garden.
Not so good - regardless of how well behaved your dog is it must be kept on a lead even in the garden which is where we sat, seems unnecessary and restrictive to well behaved dogs and none of the other pubs in the area we ate at demanded this and no mention of this policy on their website. Expensive drinks around £3 - £4 more expensive than comparable pub restaurants within a 5 or so mile radius for a beer and wine. We must have arrived before the main lunchtime rush as our starters and mains arrived too quickly. If you eat in the garden you cannot pay for the first round then leave the card behind the bar/get a tab meaning you have to go in and pay for each round of drinks but more to the point they add a 'discretional' 10% service charge on which you will need to pay in advance of eating which is too presumptuous and biased in their favour.
With minor changes this experience could have been a lot better.
We had a fantastic lunchtime meal at the Craven Arms. We did a lovely walk from the pub down through to Sevenhampton and back up to the pub so delicious food and a warm welcome was just what the doctor ordered. Brilliant range of beers and a fab garden too. Will definitely be back!
