Well this fish and chips will keep you alive but don’t go of the beaten path to get it! Not enough chips for a large portion, fish was not succulent and a bit over cooked inside, service was like a slap in the face with a wet fish and not a smile in sight, I got the feeling that if I wasn’t there they could Shut up shop and go home! Should have taken a packed lunch like biscuits or something.
Stayed in Lostwithiel this week and finally got round to trying the Chippy, it was absolutely wonderful. The staff were nice, the prices were good and the chips were lovely!!
I bought a Small Chips which was £2 and my partner got a Small Chips, Battered Sausage and a bottle of Coke for £5.
We think these were a lot nicer than our usual local back at home. Clean place, Hygiene 5 which is stated in the window, lots of service from the locals who queued with us and we then ate the chips on a picnic bench near the River Fowey. I had previously bought my own bread rolls from the Co-op from a picnic I was going to have but the Chip Shop does do a Chip Butty.
Fish and chips are the best around which is why there is a que but they have that covered with the free entertainment!! Who knew Karen's diner has arrived in lostwithiel. Genius!!!
We rung up to make an take away order 20 minutes before they closed and was spoken to very bluntly the lady was very rude me and my partner was both gob smacked after rudely being hung up on we decided to ring back to complain, this time a gentleman answered who was also very blunt and rude. Very poor customer service would not recommend.
My husband and I had fish & chips and a couple of bottles of sugar free lemonade, the best fish and chips we had tasted in a very long time they were so ???? ????.. not a morsel was left plenty of S/V on them too just as I asked.
Staff were very friendly, too, all environmentally friendly paper, and bag, we then went to eat them by the river, and really enjoyed ???? will definitely have them again next week of our holiday ????????...
Eat here twice during September 2022. Fantastic Fish and chips, cooked perfectly both times. We made the trip from our campsite near Fowey because we read these guys cook their fish and chips in beef dripping, which it turns out they did. Surprised by all the negative reviews. Service was fine, even when we quizzed them on cooking in beef dripping and the food was perfect both times. Would not hesitate to return. Price as you would expect portions plentiful.
The staff are rude. The shop itself stinks of dirty chip oil. The food tastes like the shop smells. Don't go there. Very poor experience.
Wow absolutely gorgeous fish and chips! Having read some of the reviews we were a little sceptical but how wrong were we proved! The food was great and the staff , all of them ..Were lovely! Really couldn't fault any of it and would definitely recommend to anyone ????????????
