Lovely little coffee place by the water. The staff here were really friendly and kind, the coffee was very good and we enjoyed the warm cosy interior. We were visiting the area, and decided to come in to shield from the cold and this place didn't disappoint.
This cafe is a real gem here in Edinburgh . As soon as you walk in you are greated by the smiles of lovely staff . The warmth you are received with complemented by the amazing selection on the menu . I was delighted with my selection of French toast . The food came promptly & it was some of the tastiest I have had not only in Edinburgh but in all of Scotland. This cafe is located in a prime street with lovely views . I highly recommend this place as it frequented by tourists & by locals . I will definitely be back and will be a repeat customer on weekends when I want to be treated well , with the coziest cafe you can choose . I am a foodie that goes to lots of lovely cafes Highly recommended
I ordered the full Scottish highlander breakfast and it was exactly as the name suggests .
It was big enough to feed two and a Scottish deer ???? could not jump it .
The staff were super friendly and I would most certainly recommend this place for a breakfast before or after an early morning stroll around the bottom end of leith and the docks area
I have been there twice last winter, not impressed by the food nor the quality of the service. They forgot about us for a while even though it wasn't busy. They apologized about it then we ordered (after 15-20mins sitting). The young waiter put a dripping glass of orange juice on our table, then later on dropped food (not ours) on the floor. Didn't seem friendly, just neutral and busy. The smoothie I ordered phased very quickly (in layers). I left with a croissant to take away but it tasted like it had been made the day before, so quite terrible. At least the general atmosphere and decor is nice, the breads in front of the window being a nice touch imo. The cakes were nice as well.
At first when you enter the outside vibe really doesn't match the one on the inside. The cafe smelled very badly (like raw eggs) and the service was questionable because as the waitress told the cook our order they made a vomiting hand gesture. The food itself was mediocre the fish was very oily and bland while the chips were soggy and peas were also quite tasteless. All in all not too bad but wouldn't recommend.

Went for breakfast with friends. Able to cater for 6. Sat together, staff friendly and helpful. We could chose anything off the menu didn't have to be breakfast. Obliging to change dishes to suit tastes. I had the bagel with salmon cream cheese and smashed avocado, delish. Bagel was fresh and soft, avocado had a hint of heat. All other meals went down well. Highly recommend
