Having recently dipped my toe into the world of French hot hatches with an RS Megane I was looking for a well regarded and ideally local Renault specialist. A quick search on Google brought up The Clio Man in my home town of Littlehampton, swiftly followed by pages of reviews and recommendations from fellow Renault owners. I am delighted to also add my own 5 star review. Gary is a genuine RS enthusiast and a quick visit often turns into a long chat! I’ve never met a mechanic who is so passionate about the cars he is working on and willing to show a customer intricate details of the work he is about to carry out. He also makes a point of replying to calls and messages as quickly as possible, sometimes instantly which is very impressive as he works alone.
I have visited three times in the last month. The first visit was to introduce myself and ask for help with adaptive xenons which weren’t self levelling. Gary fixed the xenons, scanned my car for fault codes and sent me on my way without asking for a penny. A week or so later I had issues with sensors which were causing the car to randomly stall, after instant advice via FB messenger Gary booked me in for them to be replaced. A few days later I dropped the car off at 9am and Gary called just after 10am to say it was ready to collect! Finally I visited last week for a full cambelt service, this was again carried out with the utmost care and as usual Gary went the extra mile, even cleaning the engine and attending to a few other issues I had pointed out. Needless to say the car now runs perfectly and I am a very happy new owner.
My brother has a Meglio and has also recently visited Gary for various issues that other garages couldn’t fix. Within 24 hours his car was running spot on as well. In fact he diagnosed the poor running issue within 5 minutes of seeing the car!
It’s not often you find a mechanic who goes the extra mile, but Gary is one of them. I can 100% recommend The Clio Man.
Took my 275 Trophy to Gary for some work, he is fantastic, massively knowledgable and a really nice guy. Happy to trust him with my car and will be back again.
What a find! Gary was genuine and honest, hard to find! Modus with engine warning light! First garage was gloom and doom and Gary positive from the outset and sorted for under £150. Our new go to Renault specialist! Thanks Gary
Great service from start to finish I took my V6 to Gary for a new custom exhaust plus a new starter motor Gary found a fault that I’ve had for years repaired fault I can’t recommend Gary enough will definitely be using him in the future he takes great pride in his work and kept me informed at all times 5 STAR SERVICE ????????????????.
I took my Megane 225 to The Clio Man for a service and cambelt change. It was a 100-mile round trip but definitely worth the visit.
As soon as you start speaking to Gary, his vast experience and knowledge of Renaults is immediately obvious. The work was carried out to an excellent standard and Gary took the time to explain to me in detail the work that had been carried out.
I'll definitely be taking my Megane to Gary again in the future.
Took my RS 200 in after a manufacturing fault in an alternator shredded the aux belt and left the timing out. Gary was incredibly helpful throughout, kept me updated daily on progress, was completely transparent and a genuinely nice guy. There's not much about fast Renaults he doesn't know. Highly recommended.
Gary was recommended to me through a fellow R26 owner. Needed a new clutch installed and brake system looking at. All work was completed to a very high standard and he also noticed other issues which he called to discuss and were renewed. I can't recommend him highly enough!
I will I'm sure be back for future work when needed.
