We had a short stop at the tea room on a longish journey. Plenty of parking and there is a garden centre in a separate unit. The farm shop is in the same building as the tea rooms, although in its own little area.
When we got in, we was greeted and seated. Some of the items on the menu was a tad more expensive than I was expecting, but at the same time they were not unreasonable. I ordered their large breakfast. When breakfast arrived it was OK, not the best but not terrible either (although the sausage was well over cooked). We sat and enjoyed our tea before paying at the counter and heading off.
Tea room itself was nice, my nan liked looking at all the tea pots that were decorating the window ledges. The farm shop had cards and some things you perhaps wouldn't usually buy at a farm shop, but also had some fresh fruit items as well, again it was OK as farm shops go. We didn't pop into the garden centre so can't comment on that!
It was, as mentioned above, an OK place for a stop with something to eat, certainly wouldn't put me off stopping again - but perhaps would stick with tea and cake! ????
Don’t feel bad about passing this place by - there’s plenty more to choose from just down the road ! Very disappointing breakfast. Coffee stale and very weak despite being described as Strong and Not for the Faint Hearted. Waitress put another measure in on top of coffee already getting cold !
Bacon was warm and strangely soft and pale. Sausages not meaty. And the best bit ? I thought my egg was superb. Tasty, fresh, golden and perfectly cooked. Definitely not worth it though.
A lovely little tea room. There is plenty of parking close to the entrance. Toilets are just inside. We ordered at the counter and sat outside, food was brought to the table. We had two teas, a scone with jam and butter and a toasted teacake. We paid just over £9.00. The waitress was friendly and fetched a bowl of water for our little dog. There is also a garden centre which we didn't have time to look around. A nice place for a pit stop.
A lovely little tea room with very helpful and friendly staff. They were happy to change the menu for dietary requirements. Food is wonderful at reasonable prices. You are able to buy local produce like jams, honey and a variety of cakes and biscuits in the shop area. The nearby farm shop sells a variety of goods and plants as you would expect from a nursery. We came away with one of the hand made garden tractor windmills that is only able to be sourced there.
All in all a great place for a return visit for tea and cake.
Quick pit stop for us whilst returning home from a weeks break.
Seated in the conservatory, light, bright & airy.
Fast service. Breakfast bap pretty much standard to what you'd expect.
A slice of coffee & walnut cake was really nice and tasty.
I'd read the reviews about this tea room and thought surly it can't be that bad !!
Unfortunately even before I'd got to the door my family were turning around to come out.
We are moving to the area soon and thought it'd nice to see what was on offer for refreshments nearby ( we had our small ten week old puppy with us who was fast asleep in one of my son's arms) apparently dogs aren't allowed in this tea room which is fair enough but the man wasn't very friendly in the way he talked to my family. However he did say that there was somewhere down the road that allowed dogs which we were grateful for....needless to say we went to another cafe called the Anglia Hotel it
was welcoming and everyone loved our puppy. The owners do alot of fundraising for charities and often have bric a brac sales.
It was absolutely spotless (it had a retro feel about it) the food was delicious needless to say we will be visiting the Anglia Hotel again.
Thank you for your kindness and wonderful hospitality:-)
All food freshly prepared on site. Excellent! Have visited here on 3 occasions and never disappointed.
Yum, lovely cream tea, (I had coffee) surprisingly quiet, it's often busy here. If you ask they warm the scones for you.
