I had three courses and enjoyed them all. The lamb roulade was perfect. Attentive and quick service too.
Absolutely delicious food from chef Kabby served promptly and with care. New management have decorated the room with tasteful simplicity and it still retains the old pub character. Highly recommend everyone supports this restaurant to ensure its success, thus hopefully preventing the property being sold for houses! The scallop starter was superbly cooked and seasoned as was my generous portion of chicken and vegetable linguine. Husband had the smoked salmon 'bomb' and pulled lamb which he thought was great until he tasted the chef's apple crumble with divine homemade custard which was even better! Yum - and reasonably priced for the quality of the cooking.
Went for dinner on a Tuesday evening. Food was excellent - we had the steak, risotto and salmon. They didn't have thick cut chips so offered us a double quantity of thin cut ones and we didn't want Parmesan on the salmon - Chef Kabby made an alternative suggestion of truffle oil which I thought was thoughtful service. Relaxed atmosphere for dining, service was great.
This is a fantastic traditional style pub with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I am always met with a warm welcome and a smiling friendly face. Nikki and Elliot the landlord's are really nice people and chat happily with locals, and I would feel quite comfortable to go there on my own because of their friendliness and hospitality, unlike most other pubs these days! Tge locals are a friendly, jokey bunch too. Lovely people, lots laughs, good grub, relaxed atmosphere, what more could you want?
Under new management from May 2018. Food and bar are fab and the staff are very friendly! Newly refurbished inside and the pub looks fantastic with all its new flowers outside!
Booking is highly recommended as extremely busy at weekends!
Just popped in for a drink. Lovely place. Very friendly. Landlord just gave us a big bowl of roast spuds and amazing gravy. Menu on wall looks lovely and reasonable prices. Very clean and friendly. Recommend
Wonderful. Wonderful greeting, wonderful staff, the roast dinner was out of this world. I have never been able to find anywhere that does a roast like I do at home until now. Thank you so much for cooking for me. X
Top notch steak on Wednesdays. I shared the Braveheart - a marinaded 28 day aged rump steak - with a mate. It comes seared and you finish it yourself on hot skillets. Staff very friendly - nothing too much trouble.
