Recently called in for the first time- ordered Sunday dinner - wow, the food was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious. Portion sizes were very generous and I enjoyed every bit of it. The apple crumble and custard was just like my nana used to make- loved it. Fantastic food and really great value for money. On top of this, the staff couldn’t have made me feel more welcome, so friendly, helpful and patient (I took some time to decide as it was all so good????). Definitely recommend and will be a regular customer.
I don’t normally write reviews but The British Kitchen definitely deserves one. I’ve been down few times and it’s a fantastic place, they have a wide variety of food, so there’s something for everyone from the homemade pies , jacket potatoes, triple chips and plenty more and they also do old school desserts too, you won’t be disappointed with whatever you go for.
The atmosphere here is a 10/10, that’s down to the lovely staff who are down to earth, they are always up for a chat and a laugh, whilst serving food, bringing a wholesome great vibe to the place, which you can’t say for many places.
If you want good old school food with great service and vibes this place is the one for you, I totally recommend it. Definitely will come again.

Can not fault the Sunday roast. Bloody lovely, just needed a touch more gravy ????. Also had a cheeky pudding and that was spot on. Lovely warm and friendly staff. Will defo be calling in again. Keep up the good work ????

I Can’t complain about the food only the staff who I listened to pull another business owner to pieces whilst speaking to another customer everybody is trying to make a living was there really any need? A personal attack on somebody because they had bought a business. Now I enjoy my food from here and I dont want to listen to this type of conversation. Your food is lovely please don’t show yourself to be ugly.
Now I don’t often give a full 5 stars for food mostly the opposite but bravo some local Shaw girls opened this place to fill the gap from teatime until 8-9pm so for a traditional English tea …
Had the chips peas and gravy simply Devine and lady had same but with cheese and onion pie also enjoyed very much .
Now if critical I’d say the cardboard trays not very good and could do with a thicker piece of pie and a few more chips but we are greedy .
Overall loved the food and enthusiasm of the girls we will be back ????????????
Visited tonight for the first time, it certainly won't be our last! Massive portions, great value for money, amazing choice, fantastically tasty food and amazing friendly staff!! Highly recommended
