Very friendly service with really high quality food. We had an excellent breakfast and are looking forward to another visit soon.
We visited for brunch and loved it! Amazing full English breakfast and an incredible choice of cakes, donut and cruffins. Well worth a visit from Bristol/Gloucestershire!
Light, spacious and modern are not normally associated with local cafés but certainly does to The Bridge. Internally it is large and has an external glass covered open fronted terrace. So what about the food? The cake selection is impressive for its range and portion size. This is achieved because of the volume of people using the cafe and ensures the cakes are fresh. On the day we went there was a gluten freelemon drizzle cake. The range for breakfast and lunch is also wide and imaginative to suit traditional and experimental tastes. Produce is fresh and service prompt even at a busy time such as lunch. Try it and you will want to go back again. There is a take out service with a separate section to grab and go.
My husband and I have visited The Bridge on quite a few occasions now, every time we visit we are greeted by the friendly and helpful staff. We have recently moved to Charfield and having The Bridge within the village is fantastic, a great place to take our family and friends when they visit. I have recently been diagnosed with a gluten allergy, the fact I have a choice of main meals and cakes is fantastic for me. We are slowly working our way through the items on the menu and I can honestly say we have not been disappointed. A pot of tea gives you 3 cups!! And the sparkling cans are thirst quenching and delicious. The apple is my favourite to date. The prices I feel are in line with the quality of the produce, I feel you are definitely paying for quality. There is no doubt we will be visiting again and again.
The Bridge has a nice selection of unusual pastries & cakes, however the atmosphere is always a little strange.
On visiting here today our 3rd visit, the staff got a few things in our order wrong (table of 5) seemed preoccupied with chatting to one another & we felt like an inconvenience, when we asked them to change what they got wrong they were overheard talking about us & were not discreet in doing so, we were made to feel unwelcome & they had an unprofessional attitude to customers.
20 minute wait for sandwiches to be served & then they completely forgot 1 order !
More staff than customers & still a wait time.
Decided after todays bad experience we will not be returning again !
Waited an age for (my 3rd choice meal as other meals were unavailable) fish n chips!
Thought they had disappeared to actually catch my meal!
Finally arrived - chips were extremely undercooked....would have been easier to eat the cutlery! Was extremely disappointed with all aspects of my experience.....from decor, staff and food......
Will be using burger van at the top of the hill in future
I had to write a review after seeing a most ridiculous review on masks. This cafe is amazing. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The food is stunning, the porridge is the best I've ever had and the coffee is perfect. Opinions on covid regulations should not affect a rating. Theres plenty of space inside and out. A lovely place to chill and eat or just to have coffee and amazing cake.
We turned up at about 2.45 on a Sunday (fathers day) for a bit of late lunch. We were greeted at the door and asked if we would be eating. We just wanted some sandwiches and cakes and was told that was fine but when we went to order about 5-10 minutes later were told that lunch had finished! Never mind we had tea, coffee and scones/cakes instead. Scones a little dry. Cakes, tea and coffee good. The building is nice but is a bit stark and lacks ambience. Overall ok but a little disappointing.
