What a discovery! Staying over for a meeting in Birmingham tomorrow and came upon the Black Horse. Had the most incredibly burger, was banging. Atmosphere for a tuesday night was like winding back time with dominos going on, football chat, pool table and all the other hits that make pubs the centre of a community.
Can we have more of these further south please!
Venue is absolutely lovely, the service was fantastic and the food was exquisite! We had the prawns & the mushroom Bruschetta for the starters, and the rump steak & fillet steaks for main and the blueberry cheesecake for desert. Safe to say we were blown away by each course! 5 star easy.
Had one of the nicest steak meals followed by egg and soldiers which was actually deep fried Cadburys creme egg with shortbread fingers. The place is lovely and the staff very friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Definitely return.
Years ago the Black Horse was a great place to go to, With wonderful real Ales and amazing Thai Food.
Then it closed, for a long time! ????
However, I am pleased to report that it's back! No Thai food now, but it now has a magnificent extensive menu which is highlighted with a challenge to all comers to devour the Black Horse Challenge Burger in 20 minutes! Do this & it's on the house!
It reminders me of the story of the Sword in the Stone!
Then onto the Real Ale! Normally there are 4 different ones including their own Black Horse ale, Daylight Robbery! However, I am pleased to report this is not an accurate description, not at £3 a pint!!!
Both the Landlord & Landlady were very friendly as indeed were the locals who were there when I was!
Their impressive stock of gins as well was further proof that this is most definitely a place to visit, several times in my opinion!
Cleanest mens toilets I've ever been in. Very pleasant place to have a wee pint. Landlords a don aswell
Nice local pub. Great atmosphere and place for friends and family to get together.
Food is amazing lovely atmosphere, friendly staff couldn't fault a thing
Great beer food not served until 28th onwards landlord excellent ????
