Great country pub cosy bar excellent meals by Tara well worth a visit if in the area good range of drinks available and friendly bar staff hold a range of activities quiz nights pop in and join in

Called in for a pint when passing, cold afternoon but a warm welcome from the staff and the fire was on in the bar which made for a great afternoon
Went for a Sunday Lunch . The portions are very generous and great Yorkshire Puds . The stuffing - sausage meat was lukewarm hence only 4 stars The service was friendly and efficient. Nice dog friendly pub.
Really good pub. Good beer, friendly staff and the Sunday Lunch...the best in Co Durham. Probably!! All at reasonable prices.
We had lunch and drinks on a Saturday afternoon. It appears the current mgmt have recently taken over the pub and we couldn't fault it, the food was good and despite there being only one bar staff on, he was brilliant.
We had Sunday Lunch for 7 .Five adults 2 children and a dog and couldn't fault it. All the meats were delicious and tender and very good sized portions. The vegetables just kept coming and I think we counted at least 8.
Deserts were excellent although we couldn't do them justice as we were so full of 1st. course
The service was great.Drinks were good . Excellent value .
Wholeheartedly recommend.
