If you are within the Hereford City Area, just GO !
Haven't rate 'food' as they don't do it.
Fabulous staff! Very knowledgeable about their ales, Larger etc, and very, very, helpful & Knowledgeable about other pubs in the area.
Hereford bars don't see it as a competition! They see it as 'their' area! A sort of, 'one for all, & all for one' sort of thing......
I highly recommend, The Barrel, & The Orange Tree, for beer/ale etc & the Rose & Crown for food !
( sadly....you can walk between them all ! What a terrible way to spend a day..... week ...... ????????????)
Had a meeting in the back room but did get to sample a pint of Butty Bach. The clientele covers all ages from 18 to 80. Staff are pleasant and alert. Can get a bit noisy especially in the outside undercover area. Beer is excellent which might explain this pub's popularity.

My favourite pub. A great welcome, fantastic beer and a comfortable area for a smoke. Pubs don't get much better than the Barrels.
Very old boozer in old part of Hereford know for wide variety of ales with large heated outside yard at back. Very busy so a buzzy atmosphere. All ages represented. Younger people tending to be out in yard of course plus smokers. Worth a visit. One of many locals in the city.
Had a couple of pints with a pal tonight. Barmaid was lovely and so was the gent clearing the bar at the end of the evening.
I was drinking Butty Bach which is a lovely beer. Couldve sat there for hours and drank many more if thered been more time!
Good service good bunch of people and most of all are really good point and still a lot cheaper than most pubs
