Ordered a chicken dhansak got a stupid, tasteless, simple chicken curry. When I called up I was told that is how they make it. TO MAKE IT WORSE THERE WAS NO LENTILS EVEN INSIDE THE CURRY, THEY DID NOT EVEN TRY TO ATLEAST ADD THAT!!! The lamb Bhuna was freestyled like HOW HARD IS IT TO FOLLOW SIMPLE RECIPES. That chef does not know how to cook they definitely spoiled our night.
Ordered a meal via Deliveroo, was quoted 60 minutes to get delivery, chased after 75 minutes and was told that driver on his way and it will be another 30 mintes ( address max 15 mins drive away). CAlled again 40 minutes later only to be told that driver n his way and should be another 15 minutes. Asked to cancel the order as by this point everyone was too hungry to wait for food and too upset at been lied to. Told that i can't cancel the order as food alredy cooked. Waited another 20 minutes only for a message to come through that my order has been cancelled!!!! WOULD NEVER TRY AND ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!
“I wouldn’t suggest ordering British Indian curries reading some bad reviews below” however I called them prior to ordering and the manager or owner answered. He made sure the food is exactly how I wanted it to be as my children were supposed to be eating. I had also ordered papadoms and they gave me extra. I did however have a small issue with their chaats in the past, but butter chicken and shahi paneer is always a winner. Bear in mind if you want to order British Indian curry’s it’s best to order from local takeaways who are Bengali owners as this is usually made food served in Britain for over 70 years. Indians, Pakistani and Bangladeshi themselves don’t eat that.
Always a great vibe with the locals, this is definitely my go to place for a good punjabi meal. Their punjabi lamb and chicken manchurians paired with a garlic naan are to die for! Also drinks and very reasonably priced, they always show all the matches and everyone is super friendly
The food is always up to the standards, there is always good quantity and quality. Even after moving far away we still always order from here it never disappoints.
Just ordered a super large mix grill to be delivered to Romford. Almost 1:5 hours later the food turned up and was cold. Opened the main mix grill box and there were no masala chips, the meats were not cooked properly. I cut one of the lamb chops and it was all pink inside. Hardly ate any of the food and I had to throw most of the food away. I have called the restaurant and left several messages but they haven't bothered to call me back. Never again!!!
It's a good place to come. As do go there almost every week. Excellent service. Made me feel good when I do go n have few drink with friends. I would recommend it. If you want to go to a Desi style place. You must try to go at least once to see, how lovely time you will have in Avenue Bar.
