Wonderfully restored after the fire, the Carriage offers a variety of dining experiences to suit a wide range of budgets. Excellent service, and can cater for groups (with advance warning). The food, service, decor and atmosphere were excellent. Love the attention to detail in the luxurious private dining space, as well as in the tea room and the platform dining area - really feels like you're stepping back in time to the "golden era" of train travel! Definitely recommend a visit!
First visit for dinner. And we were very pleased with the choice on the menu. Excellent quality and tasted great. Good wine list too. Young team who did very well and we shall definitely be back.
Nice to meet up with Carolina at the Station Restaurant for a coffees and scones and chocolate brownie, all great and will be back again.
Wonderful restoration of the old Station at Ballater, now a lovely cafe/restaurant with gift shop and in formation centre. Queen Victoria would have loved her waiting room. Only been for lunch but the soup was delicious. Scone, jam and cream was excellent.
Good - the iced currant buns were excellent and were made locally at small bakery at Crathie and the staff in the restaurant were very good and it was lovely and warm.
Not so good - the restaurant is not easy to see from outside the station like it used to be before the fire; tucked away at the back.
The placing of this tea room in the rebuilt station has a really pleasant ambience. The old carriage and recreation of the Queen's waiting room provide extra interest. We had tea and cake both of which where okay.
Excellent place so clean and reasonable prices
Really nice place to visit. Food and service just right and we enjoyed our meal. Schweppes lemonade was great. Place was nice and clean and no complaints.
