Super super clean chippy with a gleaming fryer. Well priced not cheap but not expensive. The fish was fresh fried while I waited and it was well worth the wait. Nice light golden batter, flakey white moist fish and all covered in some great chips. Will call again when passing.
I've just read the review below and am glad to say the 2 women behind the counter were really friendly and nice to me.
Food was nice and not greasy which is always a plus:)
Only reason it's not a 5/5 is that you leave the skin on the Fish, we didn't realise until we cut into the batter. Just a personal preference, but in all honesty no other chippy in barrow leaves the skin on.
Will come again
Very nice service, nice food , will always ask if you are wanting fish , so they can put it in to fry ,while you wait . Nice little chippy .
Had chips, cheese and gravy with a sausage and a can for it under £7 (I think) very good value for money, brilliant chips. Will be there again!
First visit . Very good fish and chips . His potato scallops were beautiful , great batter and a lovely large piece of potato inside . Will definitely go back again .
Nice fish(Haddock)with generous portion of nice chips.Ideal meal after day working in the garden plus saving on the cooking. Pleasant staff too, what's not to like?
Never using this chippy again!!! Due to the extremely rude dark haired assistant ( who was obviously not in the mood to deal with the 1 customer. My daughter came in around 5.45 pm today and asked for pensioners portion of fish and chips ( no salt and vinegar) for her nana and a small portion of fish and chips mushy peas and a scollop she was sneered at and told " what you mean is 2 small portions" my daughter explained that she had always asked for the same items before and it hadn't been a problem. Lots of muttering as she was served then the assistant put salt and vinegar on both, when she was asked to correct this she threw the wrong portion to one side and gave her a portion of chips that were obviously full of the scrappy bits on purpose and as my daughter was leaving muttered loudly about her. My daughter and the extended family will not be back again such a shame because it's always been great in the past.
Love this little chippy, family run with friendly staff and the best chips there is would definitely recommend
