Best KPortal Reviews
Kind, knowledgeable and patient lead pharmacist with a great team. Would recommend for travel vaccines - great travel advice, don't try and get you to have everything on the 'optional' list and prices are fair when compared to similar places. Everything's done & explained thoroughly and they're happy to answer questions.
This pharmacy seems to have a tendency to charge exorbitant prices that are well above industry standards. It's quite impressive how they can argue with customers instead of addressing their concerns professionally. The service they provide is consistently lacking, leaving much to be desired. In addition, their staff appears to be incompetent, which is quite perplexing considering the nature of their work. It's a shame that some of them resort to dishonesty instead of being transparent. Hopefully, they can make some significant improvements to rectify these issues in the future.
The pharmacist here is great. Past visit he suggested I may have an ear infection and advised me to get on to the GP asap for antibiotics as a bank holiday was coming up. Thanks to him I managed to get a prescription before all shops closed. Most recent visit, he advised that it’d be cheaper to buy my medication over the counter rather than fill my prescription and saved me £3-£4 which was very kind of him to do. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful. Many thanks
It's a bit small. I couldn't find neither baby wipes nor bath foam. I didn't think the sales assistant was particularly friendly and the queuing system is not great. You can trip and fall. They're actually lucky they get 3 stars.
I've been a customer of this pharmacy for over a year now and have had exceptional service until very recently. The pharmacy was experiencing a shortage of medication and advised I discuss with my doctor whether I could be prescribed an alternative, in case they had stock of that alternative. Since the shortage affected multiple medications, I called to ask what alternatives were in stock, so I could discuss options with my physician that I would be able to collect from the pharmacy. The pharmacist repeatedly ignored my question and told me to talk to my doctor, and when I inquired what we would do if my GP prescribed another medication that was affected by the shortage, explaining that it didn't make sense to blindly ask my GP for alternatives without knowing which ones were in stock, the pharmacist aggressively told me to go to another pharmacy and then hung up the phone. I was quite stunned at this service and hope it was a one-off occurrence.
The pharmacist Anvi? (May have this wrong) was so helpful with my prescription. They sorted out my prescription quickly and when they found they didn't have stock quickly found and arranged for another local chemist that did to fill my prescription. They took the extra time to help me with this even though they where busy and could see I would struggle if I needed to contact and re-arrange the prescription myself. Definitely worth the 5 stars I've given them.
I went for my COVID jab and observed some concerning practice from the technician staff, outlined below. A more minor gripe was the fact that they were operating a ticket system even though this was a booked slot.
The pharmacy technicians did not introduce themselves by name or role and were not wearing any means of identification. It appeared that one was in training but this was not disclosed. When I asked who they were, the apparently more senior of the two was defensive and claimed to be "medically trained" and "like a nurse", which are fraudulent and misleading claims. They did not ask pertinent questions such as if I had had symptoms or if I have any allergies. The technician was about to do the vaccination with bare hands seemingly without having washed them since the previous patient and without alcohol-swabbing my arm, despite having a kidney dish full of wipes. This is a recipe for cellulitis, especially considering the patient population having COVID jabs. When requested, he put on gloves and swabbed but then was aggressively palpating the area of my arm he had swabbed, nullifying having wiped it. When I told them I was not comfortable with this, they escalated to the pharmacist, who had his name on his t-shirt and who was friendly and used this as a teaching opportunity regarding proper technique.
This would have been a one-star review but for the intervention of the pharmacist, who had a nice manner that induced confidence and who performed the vaccination safely.
Always have had a great experience with them over the years that I’ve gone here for my prescriptions
