Wow this was an amazing walk; 8 miles loop around the loch. Weather was wet, cold and windy but the beauty was still there. Waterproof clothes and shoes advisable. Car park was £5 for a car and the machine took cash or card (very useful).
Normal carpark, really. Overflowing parking spaces as well. The cost is £5 until same day midnight. Interesting drive to get there, but loved it. Pictures are showing the surrounding of the car park.
Plenty of spaces, car park plus separate coach park. No overnight stays. Parking cost is £5 per car, £10 per van and the meter accepts card or cash payments for up to 23 hours. Reasonable if you're hiking Lochnagar etc but not so much for popping out with the dog! Toilets at the visitor centre. Lots of hungry, opportunistic garden birds!
Wonderful scenery and walks from the car park. Don't ignore the car park full sign if its up. At the weekend and public holidays it gets very busy. Many people had parked in the passing places on the single track road to the car park causing chaos with cars trying to pass each other. Save yourself some bother and go mid week is much better as it's very quiet.
Beautiful walk with amazing scenery. You start from a walkers car park then make your way to begin the walk you want to take. Clear directions and arrows to follow, the walk starts nice and gentle along a road before you turn and gradually walk up a hill. It then becomes slightly steeper but the views are spectacular and worth the climb. As you reach the top you can see for miles around. Hills are amazing and plenty of Heather to gaze at and enjoy and walks to sit and enjoy your lunch. Down hill is fine , although a little night in places with a couple of small streams that are easy to cross. The path is windy but you will then get back to where you began . The walk we did was about five miles but does not seem that. Would recommend to anyone who like a their ramble and walks.
A well maintained car park, £5 for cars, £10 for campervans, large touch screen display for paying the parking, accepts card or cash
No phone signal for us (Vodafone) but you won't need it because of the trails, walks and scenery.
Toilets on site that stayed open throughout the night, clean and we'll stocked.
Gorgeous drive on single track with lots of passing places to get there.
On our arrival we saw a large herd of deer and stopped to take photos, only to find more deer casually grazing by the car park.
Amazing visit, well worth the drive.
Most beautiful place in the world! Have been coming here for years but this year we took my children so they could enjoy the beauty. Swimming in the loch, puddling in the burns. Stags everywhere. What is not to love ????
I can confirm that the pay machines take cards and this does work. £5 for a car. £10 for motorhomes and minibuses. £15 for coaches.
There is also a toilet block and a ranger centre. Defib and emergency phone mounted on the outside of the ranger centre.
Singletrack road with passing places to access. Sounds like it's chaos on nice days in summer. On a Friday in April it was absolutely fine.
