I attended Speke Neighbourhood Health Centre this morning to receive my covid booster vaccination. The staff were very pleasant and efficient , and the queue was less than five minutes. The only small issue I need to raise is that this location is not mentioned in the NHS list of walk-in clinics. I only suspected the site might be active because vaccinations were available there last year. The staff are currently on hand every Wednesday and Friday ( as of today 3rd November 2023 ). So NHS , your list of walk-in covid booster locations needs to be updated.
Pretty dreadful place honestly. Some (not all) of the staff are incredibly rude, especially one particular doctor who simply shouldn't be allowed to work with people. Especially vulnerable people! Incredibly dismissive, patronising and insulting. I'm not the only person to mention this doctor in reviews.
On the other hand, Dr Bicha is nice and helpful. Try and stick to appointments with him if you can.
Very quiet and clean. Had blood tests done. Very efficient and kind staff
Dr Mangarai's attitude is actually despicable and his NHS contract is ending on 29th January 2020 in any case...
I've also been warned by another health professional whose patients have complained regularly about both Dr's Thakur, father and son who apparently have similarly unhelpful approaches...
Update March 2024: Since writing this review in 2019 my care automatically transferred across to another practice at the same health centre, called Drs Singh and Bicha, although other GPs also work at this practice namely, Dr Gallard, Ikkide and now Tait. I have been to see all of them to no avail. Dr Bicha is the only one who's been even slightly helpful, the others are literally appalling. I have had to start sound recording all appointments because of constantly being fobbed off, and even lied to/broken promises made by multiple GPs here and also the practice manager, who must have promised verbally to promised to update my records to show I'm a vulnerable patient at least twice and despite my multiple complex health issues, it's never been done. Getting a referral to a specialist from this practice is like getting blood out of a stone. I am hoping to move practice as a matter of urgency and in the process of preparing a summary of exactly what's happened when in order to make a formal complaint to NHS England. I would have done this years earlier if I wasn't constantly ill because of lack of concern from this practice about their patients.
Don't register with any doctors here unless you're suicidal and haven't the gumption to kill yourself: being a patient here will do it for sure
This surgery is a disgrace! Last year I had issues with Dr Singh after my experience with her and doing some research and seeing how negligent she actually is I refused to see her anymore. I have since seen Dr Gallard who was no better! I have had issues now for two years and still no answers I can barely walk and have lost my job as a result. I went to Dr Gallard more hopeful and she was rude and abrupt from the moment I stepped in her room. She asked my symptoms and I started telling her she interrupted me shouting at me "stop stop! I can't do all this at once what do you think I am?" I honestly didn't don't know how to respond I asked her what she wanted me to do she said slow down so I did, again interrupted with "right you've got that much going on I don't know where to start what do you want me to do" I felt happy at hearing this as I have been researching my symptoms and have a few ideas of what I may have (some form of autoimmune connective tissue disorder). She then said "well non of them are curable so why do you want to know?" What Dr says that to a patient??? She then spoke down to me and told me she would not refer me for further tests and to just get on with pain management or go private! This is the second Dr at this practice who has been a disgrace to their profession! I feel totally gas lit and now depressed! If you need a Dr don't see Dr Singh or Dr Gallard they are both useless!!!
Spoke to gallard on the phone horrible experience nasty piece of work the woman is completely devoid of compassion lacks empathy should be struck off Singh is little or no better awful practice absolutely dreadful
Worst doctor I have ever seen in my 30 years of age! Dr Stephanie Gallard should not be allowed to work with people. I went there with several issues that impact my daily life. She never tried to make conversation. She was dismissive. Always pointing the finger at me for not seeking the exact professional. I left my severe depression for last and I never even got to that point as she started shouting ''10 MINUTES, YOU GET 10 MINUTES''. So even though my therapist yesterday said I should speak to my gp for medication I ended up leaving my GP wanting to kill myself. Cheers Dr Gallard, this will not stay at a review alone x
Tried to get registered here, was recommended here as I only just moved to Speke. I called and was told call back at 8 am tomorrow, when I called at 8 am this morning. Then was recommended to go to a walk in centre. The "no help" attitude towards me was enough to put me off, I got told to register "would be weeks" and that the "registry forms" were in piles. It doesn't cost anything to be helpful.
