New owners have taken over this pub and they are doing an amazing job. Food is fantastic, you get loads for your money. It has free juke box and pool on a Monday. They show all sports. The owners have created a great community feel to the pub. I'm really pleased we have just moved here - my new local!!
Haven't been for a while, when it opened up it was of course lovely and fresh and clean, went a couple of times and loved it, went back on Saturday and the floors were all very sticky, the glasses were disgustingly dirty and the bar staff are more interested in chatting to each other than actually serving your properly! A lot of people said it would go down again... it's sad though as it's such a lovely view and Saltdean could use a nice pub... what a let down..
Yeah - nice pub, this. Definite family vibe going on. Service quick as you like when I went in there late afternoon. A bit of seating outside, and a decent oblique view of the sea, as an estate agent may say. Food available but not partaken on this occasion due to upcoming curry. Decent pint of Neck Oil confirmed.
More of a locals pub, noisy with music and tv screens on full blast with everyone loud and hight raised voices as a result.
I feel sad that this rip off Britain is forcing pubs to charge so much for a drink. I don't go as often as I did. Cannot afford anymore.
Went for lunch after looking at an acceptable pub grub menu on their website. On arrival availability of food was very limited and nothing like the website indicated. We asked about this to be told the menus were in the process of change. The venue was empty at a time of day (Friday lunch) one might expect it to be busy.
We left and went elsewhere for lunch.
I'll be honest, I did consume a little bit too much falling down juice, so my memory may be hazy but from what I can recall it ws very clean, the bar staff and security were all total sweethearts, the karaoke was very entertaining and everyone there seemed friendly and just out for a good time.
Really nice manager. Very friendly and polite. Quality food at low price. Good atmosphere. Really enjoyed the visit. Will come back soon.
Came in this evening to see what it was like as I know it’s been opened around a month and wanted to check it out!
Enjoyed a few ciders. Was good and the place looks good too! Nice atmosphere and music. Overall pleasant.
However the girl on the bar was on her own and I couldn’t see anyone to help her. Not sure if they are still finding their feet and need more staff? But she was rushed off her feet and a queue formed and got a bit busy for one person. Hope the staffing issues are sorted soon and she’s not left lone working.
