Chips were manky tasted like they were lunchtimes refried in very old rancid oil, had curry sauce which would of been helpful to take the taste of the chips away but unfortunately did not taste like chip shop curry and was so hot it was inedible and had to throw that away along with the manky chips. Will not be visiting again as its high price and very low quality.
Small portions, oily batter and expensive. Worth the drive to Burnham. Has been like this for decades.
By far the best fish and chips I've ever had, the owners are friendly and are great at thier jobs. I've become a regular and often give tips for such great service and quality for money. Portion sizes are great too
Very small portions for a very high price. Fish tasted drenched in oil and pie was just microwaved and everything but nice. Wouldn't recommend. Oil always looks brown like it's been in there forever. Do not recommend
My parents reported:- Good service - lovely fish - naff chips. They were horrible - hard, just small, scrappy bits, not a decent size chip of any substance among them - not as one would expect 'fish and chip shop' chips to be. Could not eat them - very disappointing.
Wow, portion sizes are excellent and make it great value for money. Fantastic service, and always quick to fill your order. Without a doubt the best fish and chip shop in the Dengie. Not sure about small portion and high prices, i'd say give it another go, I'm sure you will be pleasantly surprised.

Gave it one star as the option for none wasn't there .This has to be the most filthy disgusting chip shop I have ever had the shire miss fortune to stamble across .what kind of person puts a burger into a deep fat fryer and has the a cheek to charge top dollar .I was asked if I wanted salad and got half a slice of Lettuce Also the chips looked like they had been chucked in a bin after a friday piss up and refried also the staff are very rude will never eat in thay dosshole again
