Used to love this Chinese!!
Now it’s completely inedible.
The satay chicken was congealed and stagnant.
The squid was undercooked to the point it was mushy and rubbery at the same time.
The salt and pepper chips had a sprinkle of salt and no peppers!!
The ribs were over cooked and dry despite being in a greasy watered down sauce.
The beef in black bean was basically spicy gravy with rubber beef.
All in all disgusting couldn’t eat it and will NEVER be returning.
Waited about 25 minutes when I got the food I was two minutes from my home opened it up and it was cold. The barbecue sauce is to salty I asked for plum sauce but got barbecue
Nice menu choice. First time visitor, was surprised at how busy the shop was when I arrived - around 16 people were waiting.
Only downside is that some of the food was only lukewarm rather than piping hot when we got it home.
Combination curry used to have 3 prawns in it then it went to 2 and tonight I didn't get any it's getting very poor looking for a better Chinese tbh also 2 weeks ago I waited over an hour for my order I think they forgot it until I asked no apology.
This has always been my go to Chinese for years. I’ve had a couple of takeaways from here recently and both times been very disappointing. Forgetting my order on one occasion. Stale chips. Watery tasteless dishes. Sadly nothing like it used to be. Won’t be returning.
I never usually leave reviews but it was my sons 21st tonight and the food was disgraceful. We ordered ahead of time but still had to wait 25 minutes extra when I arrived which I wouldn’t of minded as I understand it’s a busy Saturday night but the food was awful. Got home and they’d missed out his rice and the chips were like rubber & the chicken chow mein had no flavor. I used to be a regular but it’s put me off coming back. I rang up to complain and I was offered a ‘free’ rice next time which isn’t free because I paid for it tonight and never received it. £55 wasted on a overall bad meal.
Half decent food. As expected for a takeaway. Better ordering system needs to be in place. Why quote a time for collection if the food isn't ready?. Unfortunately I had to wait an extra 25 minutes. On top of this they had forgot to give me my soft drinks so I went back in and they tried to make me pay again for it. Decent food but poor customer service.
South Wootton Takeaway is a shop that my kids grew up with, we’ve used it for almost 20 years even before when it was a supermarket. The quality of their food has been getting better and better within the past few years, fresh and delicious. Taste of home. Highly recommend.
