Have bought pies for many years from here but yesterday I got a cheese & potato (actually wanted cheese & onion but didn’t have any) & a Meat & Potato.
They have obviously changed the recipe, I took one bite of the C&P & was met with an awful texture & taste of what was inside, spat it out & threw the whole thing away.
Meat & Potato resembles nothing like how they’ve been for decades, so that went on the bird table too.
I don’t know what, if anything has changed with other produce in Sixsmiths as I only sampled the Pies, sadly I will definitely not be returning, in my opinion they have changed something that was part of the identity of Edenfield for Donkeys years ????

Really good sandwiches, I couldn’t make them better myself. The chocolate brownie was massive and wasn’t sickly at all. My 2 year old was very impressed with his cheese and ham sandwich!
Now Mannings don't make loaves and Gregs are more of a takeaway butty shop.... if you want a loaf of real bakery bread, head here. Lovely cake selection too and the pies look good.
Lovely bakery, the Iced Fingers are awesome, the sandwiches always fresh and yummy, the soup is gorgeous and having sampled most of the cream cakes, I can only say you would be daft not to try them. Lovely ladies work there too!

Delicious fresh pies. Fantastic bread. Excellent friendly local bakers. I'm more of a savoury than sweet man so someone else will have to comment on the cakes. Great service too. ????
As always fantastic pies, bread and cakes and lovely huge sandwiches freshly made. A good old fashioned bakery not many left now. Thoroughly reccomend.
