Best KPortal Reviews
Lovely dog friendly pub with a great atmosphere and nice pint.
Holidaying in Seahouses and looking for a comfy pub to relax and chill with my dog after exploring the area, we were welcomed in and made to feel at home within minutes. Staff so friendly and made fuss of dog and provided water so that he'd settle. Cheap and lovely beer and seating areas comfy with TV's showing sport. The locals made us comfortable and at home. Returned for next 3 nights of visit
We were staying in Seahouses at another establishment. We had The Schooner Inn recommended. What a great recommendation. Seahouses isn't a large town, which is one of its attractions. We weren't expecting to find a pub that had the Premier league on TV.
The atmosphere in the pub was very amicable. Full of Newcastle United fans.
Very friendly indeed. The young lady behind the bar made us very welcome. TV screens in abundance, so nothing was missed.
The drinks were far cheaper than where we were staying.
It was a great night despite the match result.
On our 4th day in Seahouses we walked 77 steps to this bar. The only one of the four pubs that does not have real ale. Had a refreshing pint of Cruzcampo with Ic and Flic. They like the nautical theme in this L shaped pub. They loved the model trawler. I think this is the only TV pub for watching footie. 4 TV's for popular games. Also 2 dartboards.
Went in because of the Black Sheep Brewery signage. I love their beers and have visited the brewery. The place doesn’t smell right, like the carpet could do with a clean. Local propping up the bar was very intereated in me.
Ordered the Black Sheep Best Bitter. First sip tasted off. Waited a bit, had another sip. Beer isn't meant to taste like that. Tasted like the cleaning solution was still in the lines. If they can't get that right I'd rather not swap it for another pint.
Tried to be nice by quietly taking it into the gents and poured it down the urinal. Didn’t want to embarrass anyone.
Came back to my seat. The local propping up the bar demanded to know why I'd taken it into the toilet, asking what was wrong with it, telling the bar staff. Getting louder and louder.
Why was he so interested in watching me going into the toilets?
Actually went here to watch football. The atmosphere was really lovely. Welcoming staff and locals. The drinks were inexpensive and the pub was warm and welcoming. We are staying in another establishment but will definitely be back here for drinks.
Friendly welcome and nice atmosphere. A no frills, down to earth pub, dogs welcome
We visited this pub on holiday and were welcomed wholeheartedly by the locals. We were brought into a darts competition and a dance off with some.od the local ladies. It was so fabulous and really made the start to our holiday! Cheap drinks and great entertainment from a singer too!
This pub does well to draw in the locals who welcome the travellers. The pub markets itself on good beer (The Schooner 3.8% abv @ £3.00 a pint) and multiply screens to watch football, horse racing and rugby. It's a safe bar, but no parking nearby
