What a fantastic beach. We have been to some very nice remote beaches in the UK and this is number one for us.
The beach is beautiful sand, there are rock pools for exploring, a beautiful backdrop and the water was lovely to swim in.
There is a very quickly changing landscape as the tide comes in and goes out very quickly.
There are some outcrops / islands to swim across and it is also safe to canyon from them into the pools behind.
We did wear wetsuits as did the kids. This was on a 20C day in August
There is parking for about 20 Cars we arrived at 9am and when we left in the afternoon there were too many cars for the car park, so arrive early.
The barnacles are sharp so would suggest neoprene shoes or similar when in the water if you do plan to climb the rocks.
Sanna Beach is a remote but beautiful beach.
There's a small, free car park just a 3 minute walk from the beach.
The beach itself has the most beautiful white sand and blue water, it was incredible that these views are on our coast line.
There are no facilities, so make sure you pack food and drink.
This is a beach to put on your bucket list!
The drive along the single track road is long, very long (and fun in some places… think Top Gear roads)….. the scenery makes up for the long drive. There’s a couple of places to stop off along the way for photo opportunities, and it’s worth doing. Honestly!
There’s a car park at the end of the long winding road, which has a foot track town to the beach. It’s quite unsuitable for anyone with walking problems.
The beach is beautiful. Gorgeous sands and turquoise water.
Make sure you take food/drink for the day, as there’s not a lot around and you may end up quite hungry. You will pass some small village shops along the way but there’s nothing at the beach that we saw.
The sea was freezing (august) but we did get a bit of a swim.
Beautiful beach with stunning water with white sands..
always a bit of a journey to get there but always worth it the area is host to a plethora of rare wild animals such as sea eagles otters Wales and pine Martins just to name a few ..
Get this place on your bucket list!
Absolutely insanely beautiful.
It isn't an easy place to get to, having to travel nearly 20 miles on a narrow single lane but it truly is worth it.
White sands, crystal clear water and you get to drive through an extinct volcano caldera to get to it!
If you do visit, please remember to take all litter home with you. it's really tidy, let's keep it that way.
Have been going here since I was a young boy and everytime I go it's as perfect as the last. Everlasting family memories here and so remote that it's rarely busy. Perfect white sand beach, awesome rocks to clamber on, beautiful walks and a load of parking spaces.
Amazing place to chill out and relax. A short walk from the car park which has lots of sheep grazing so the dog was on her leash until we got to the water but then plenty room to run free.
Lovely spot beautiful and completely unspoilt. No public toilets however which is worth bearing in mind in case you get caught short
