Visited for light lunch. Delighted to see my favourite beans on toast! Delicious and presented lovely. Followed with a slice of cake which was lovely too. This is a fab cafe, welcoming staff, all home made food. So many places get it badly wrong - this is not one of them! Highly recommend if you are in Middleton in Teesdale.
For sure the very best deli and tearooms in Middleton in Teesdale! One has found the best-forget the rest! Just passing through from London to Newcastle and taking the scenic route and came across this 'gem' A really warm 'welcome' by the lovely team and things just got better! The varied menu is a delight. The 3 gentlemen and 2 ladies just could not have been nicer nor more helpful-nothing was too much trouble for them. I ordered a delicious cheese platter and could not believe the portion sizes nor how delicious they all were. The lovely young gentleman in the kitchen was unflappable! (despite how busy they were!). How they found this incredibly nice polite guy is beyond me! He prepared a delicious platter which was truly worthy of 5 stars! The ladies serving were just so kind and attentive and fun too!. All in all a most excellent 'find'. How rare these days to find perfection.......but this deli tearooms is the very definition!.
We stopped here for takeaway lunch. Greeted by a lovely guy on arrival. We had cheese and pickle sandwiches which were lovely! The fruit scone and Victoria sponge cake also very good. Would definitely return.
What a great place to meet for Brunch, so many tempting choices and very friendly service. I had the cheese platter and loved every bite of it
Local cafe used by its townspeople, but we got a lovely, warm welcome and our dog was given a treat. Good menu and the food looked amazing, but we just had a coffee.
Everything about this cafe is top drawer
I went for a ride out because the weather was better after all the rains of February, I was attracted to the Cafe it looked interesting upon looking through the window I spotted good looking home made cakes.. Well these are exceptional cakes if you have good taste and also the earl grey tea was so good I had carrot cake it was also perfect and cheesy topped. The owner and the two girls serving were so sweet .. They deserve a food/cafe Oscar They are my nomination
Other customers had wholesome looking homemade dishes not ordinary way above..
I am Norman owner of the Georgian Window Durham
Excellent cafe for breakfast or lunch. We both had the Ploughman's platter, which was excellent, and to be recommended as uses locally sourced and quality ingredients. Friendly team on duty, too.
Called in for coffee but decided to have a toasted teacake as well . The coffee was lovely and hot and the Toasted Teacake was was light and served with butter and jam - delicious .
