Pizzas and burgers served out of shipping containers in the ruins of an old garage sounds more like the plot to a culinary Mad Max than a quiet spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon. Sam's on the Roseland, however, delivers great food, great tunes, and great cocktails, all served with a cheery smile and happy chatter that Sam's is known for.
The poly tunnel chicken hutches are a trifle weird but a nice touch in the post COVID landscape. Great place to break your journey.
We stopped off for breakfast and were very surprised about how good this place was. There are plenty of outside tables (and pods) and the quality of food and service was great. Service with a smile. Thank you.
Excellent place for food and drink. Great service and friendly/helpful owner. Would recommend.
Staff were so lovely and accommodating and a nice setting to enjoy our meal. However, the food took longer than expected. My partners cheese burger was incredible, but my pesto and halloumi burger was a bit over powering with the pesto flavour. My cheesy chips were cold and the cheese was not melted. Would just stick to regular fries (ordered this to take away, much better!). Overall, I would come back now I know what to order.
This place saved my life. First day cycling LEJOG, I’d not planned well and hadn’t come across anywhere with food or drink for hours. This was like a wonderful oasis with plenty of room to just rock up and sit outside, where I was served burgers and beer. It might have been because I was starving, but it was honestly the best burger I’ve ever had. Staff were all super friendly and attentive; filling my water bottle and pointing me in the right direction of a wonderful campsite just down the road. Thanks guys!
Awful cold greasy snotty egg and black bits on food from a dirty griddle. The waiter was nice
friendly place, nice atmosphere.
Food pretty rough.
Burger fell apart and was way too salty and greasy.
Chips were dark brown and tasted like they'd been standing around then reheated. Also very greasy.
Good place to come for a beer, but I'd avoid eating there.
This is as good a snack bar as you can find. Plenty of outside space with pods and tables. We had burger, one of the best we've had in a long time and at an extremely reasonable price. Also available are salads, simple snacks, pizza, ice cream and a full range of hot and cold drinks. All very friendly too. Friends recommended Sam's in Mevagissey too.
