10/10.. 5/5.. whatever the scoring tool is, this place is such a well managed and lovely place to stay.
We was checked in by a nice lad who helped us with any questions throughout our stay. He came to check in once to ensure we had everything we needed for our young baby.
We also had the owner of the hotel ring us to check if we’d settled in okay and if we needed anything for our baby.
This type of service and care you don’t get often and certainly would never get in a corporate hotel so we have been incredibly pleased to stay here. Would recommend to anyone.
Shame the place was such a let down obviously alot of reviews are the owners themselves
The pace is badly in need of a clean in general but thre where hairs in the bed that took all day to get them to het fresh linen
And I've been very ill since last night's meal wich did taste OK at the time to be fair but definitely not worth the money
The staff are generally rude when you make a request or need assistance when bar is busy

Stayed here for one night before an early boat trip to Ireland, We only booked as a bed for the night not realising it was a great wee pub with a great atmosphere. Had a quick drink with the owner who also bought us a drink and showed great hospitality. There was a wee sing song on the go so a great laugh.. The rooms were comfortable and we had a great sleep and done the job for the long journey ahead.. My family and I all agreed we would do this again before visiting our Irish family.. thanks again for the hospitality.. ❤️
Only been here for drinks though have heard rooms are nice
We had a lovely double room, which looked newly renovated. Great location too. We were able to park in the street overnight. Helpful staff. What's not to like?

The people are wonderful, warm and friendly. The rooms were very nice, bathrooms recently remodeled. Loved the cookies they leave for you.

Beautiful hotel, if for any reason we find ourselves coming back to Stranraer then we will absolutely be booking here again. Room was absolutely stunning, very modern and spotlessly clean, staff were so helpful and would go out of their way to help you with anything you wanted. Great atmosphere in the bar, drinks reasonably priced, staff once again wonderful and so friendly, the whole stay was just spot on from start to finish!
The Royal Hotel was a lovely place to stay for our first time in Stranraer. They accommodated our needs perfectly and were incredibly kind we will definitely come back.
