Best KPortal Reviews

The service was great and staff were very friendly, however, especially for the price of the food I would not say it was pleasant at all. The rice was covered in mint leaf which completely overpowered the taste as all I could taste was the mint leaf, and the chicken was very bland. I’m sure the atmosphere would be very nice at the night or during a much nicer weather, so it would not be fair for me to make a comment on that. Overall, the drinks were nice and the chicken was halal but I would not come back.
We only had drinks which, as you might expect here, aren't exactly cheap.
We were met on entry and taken to our table. We ordered the drinks but there was little to choose from in terms of food. If you champagne and croissants this place might be for you.
We struggled a but to get someone's attention so we could pay and leave.
They add a 10% "gratuity" to the bill, but this was actually highlighted.
Sadly, although we were ushered in, our exit was very different. The staff were all grouped around the counter chatting away. They didn't even acknowledge our presence as we passed them to find our own way back to ground level.
The whole concept of offering something you can chatge I remiun rates for rests on great service and quality product.
We left here with the distinct impression that it's nothing more than 'get them in, rip them off with a 10% "gratuity", then let them wander off to find a venue that delivers real value.
Very romantic and elegant place with a great choices of food. Great vibes from everyone, i love this place sm!
Popped up for late breakfast coffee and croissants, lovely vibe, great service, although lost a star for the water never turning up ????.
Roof Thirty Nine is narrow & cramped, views are poor because you are just looking on the top of old dirty building. Music they play is far too loud! How many people would go here in the winter? They certainly need to reduce prices as they are far to high!! Overall its nothing special. Staff here however are excellent!
Another perfect lunch at Roof Thirty Nine! What an amazing restaurant it is! The whole experience of visiting is our pleasure! From booking to arriving, and having a lovely welcome at Fenwicks, then to go up in the tropical forest lift, and the fascinating corridor until you arrive at its perfect setting with views over Newcastle. The staff are immediately welcoming and attentive, the environment is all comfort and it is just so nice to be there.
The food and wine is always glorious, and I have never ever felt anything but 100% satisfied.
Every friend i have taken there has been hugely impressed and today was no exception!
Well done Roof 39 Team ????

A bit excostive but...well worth it ❤️????
My son wants me to take him out for a steak tonight. That reminded me of the last time I took him out. I surprised him with a trip to the rooftop restaurant in Fenwick and have been meaning to write a review ever since.
When our main course arrived on the pass, and the chef shouted to make the young waiting staff aware, they were too busy chatting (one was on her phone) to notice. They were at the far end of the restaurant near the entrance/exit, we were in front of the pass at the other end.
5mins passed and then a chef returned to see what was happening, he shook his head and returned to the kitchen. I understand his frustration, but as paying customers we were still we sat there whilst our food chilled a little further. We waited a little more, but still they chatted. With none of them noticing me turned in my seat trying to get my attention, and with the chefs in the kitchen, I actually had to get our food from the pass myself…..!
It was early evening when we arrived so the place was near empty. The staff only returned to the end of the restaurant where we were sat because more guests arrived and they had to sit them.
All I kept thinking was, were is the manager?
