Let me preface this review by saying this is based on my personal tastes, and not on the chef's cooking quality. We started off with a gazpacho juice (this was amazing), the other ones were little tarts and honestly i did not like them. They tasted very strange. Then they gave us gallina, which was delicious, but the brown sauce was a weird combination of guava and almond which i thought distracted from the dish. Next was the risotto and the pasta. Both were undercooked. The pasta's sauce was with whiskey and it still tasted too much like alcohol. The risotto was amazing just a little crunchy. Next was the meats. The Angus beef was amazing!! The bread was also something else. Finally came the pre dessert and the desserts. The pre dessert was a balloon-like shape and it was filled with yogurt. I thought it was very nice, and the dessert was a chocolate statue with a passion fruit sauce. It was also delicious. Service was amazing also.
I think my main criticisms are:
1. The plates were way too small, you could probably eat every plate in one bite and even after all we ate i was still hungry.
2. There is a very odd combination of flavors, which i personally did not always enjoy. However, as i mentioned earlier this could just be my personal taste and you may appreciate the odd flavor combinations.
Overall it was a good restaurant, but i had extremely high expectations of a Michelin starred restaurant, and I personally felt this place did not deliver consistently enough to give it the final two stars.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to dine at several Michelin rated restaurants, Poggio Rosso delivered the most exceptional meal we’ve ever had. The backdrop is stunning, the staff are attentive, and the food is authentic, rich, generous and delicious. Want to acknowledge the manager, Gabriella, who made the entire experience, from greeting to departure, as smooth as butter. No complaints. No stress. Just a damn good dining experience to cap off our honeymoon. Encourage anyone to plan a trip to Sienna/Tuscany with this Ristotante Poggio Rosso in mind.
