To whom the matter may concern,
I have been working with the Qatar health office for just over 7 years and overall in the medical field 12 years. I graduated from Legal & Medical interpreting at University and have several qualifications.
I walked into the health office 7 years ago with my CV and applied for a job, there was a kind gentleman who gave me a job and I started working straight away. I sent a WhatsApp of all my documents but there was nothing to be signed which felt quite obscure at the time but I thought that was how their system worked. After all those years working at the health office I worked alongside the most amazing patients, full of respect and I will never forget the beautiful memories I have with them but unfortunately it has now come to an end. The health office hired someone named Ahmad Al-Blooshi to help with sending interpreters appointments and he started to disrespect the nature of work and overload interpreters with random appointments.  He was put in charge of sending appointments to interpreters but has taken it upon himself to intrude in matters that do not relate to our work. On one occasion he said to me that I am rich enough and don’t need a job, which I felt extremely uncomfortable with as it felt like he was stalking me.
After bringing up my concerns to management’s attention, I was fired for no apparent reason. I was not made aware of this.
Ahmad, on numerous occasions, has belittled our job as medical interpreters, often looking down on the profession, and started to humiliate me by spreading false allegations about me to my patients. He then even reported all these lies to Mr Abdullah Al-Ansari.
I went to the health office to meet Mr Abdullah Al-Ansari and he told me he does not have time to speak to me. He told me to write a full report which I done and I sent to him and he will get back to me, but he didn’t.
From this point I was ignored and didn’t hear anything back. So I continued to work as usual, professionally as I have done for 7 years and then I got a call from an interpreter saying they no longer want my services and al my patients have been sent to her instead. They did not have the courage to inform me because I did NOTHING wrong apart from defend myself.
That obviously created a lot of stress and anger for my patients.
My patients have since kept requesting me as I have been attending their appointments for several years and I know all of their medical history. Ahmad Al-Blooshi told them ‘Sara left the Heath office’ which was a lie. He told them ‘Sara does not want to cover your appointments’ which was also a lie - my patients are witnesses to all the above.
There is a major problem at the Qatar Health Office in London because no HR department exists and any false allegations against you, despite it being true or not, gets you fired. There is absolutely no one to turn to. It’s as if they have schemed behind my back to create fabricated stories as Ahmed had a hidden personal agenda.
They have dealt with the entire situation immorally and did not speak to me directly to end my services as a medical interpreter. Ahmad Al-Blooshi called my patient in the morning and said the boss Abdulla Al-Ansari has fired Sara. None of this happened as far as I was concerned. I am bewildered as to how someone could get fired for 7 years of relentless immaculate service to patients and for the perpetrators to not even have the decency of informing you themselves of this uninformed decision.
I hope someone responsible enough would read this and act upon this unjustifiable and gross misconduct within the Qatar health office in London. Certain employees need to be investigated properly. There are certain individuals being hired without any form of qualification and any basic necessary skills required in any office in the 21st century.
I will never work for the health office again but I will forever pray that God grants me victory for what happened.
