I loved Pittenweem the whole atmosphere of the place so relaxing, people very friendly. The lovely character houses and the beautiful harbour which all stood out. Took me back in time to
when the fisherfolk caught the fish. I wonder did the women here in Pittenweem also carry their men on their back's to the boats as the women did in other fisher Towns.
It has been written women carried the men onto the boats to keep the men dry and to give them good luck in their boats.
I look forward to visiting the beautiful place again.
Very busy in Summer, so often difficult to get a park. It is very picturesque but not prettier than many other coastal village in Fyfe. A little bit overrated judging by its popularity.
We were lucky enough to be here in the period of the art festival. The town was really charming and lot of houses were open to host the paintings of lot of local artists.
Parking can be difficult in summer months but Pittenweem is a must see East Neuk fishing village. A rare survivor which has managed to retain working fishing boats and its fish market.
Old fishing village, now a small town with lots of character and busy fishing fleet. If you like quaint streets and houses it's got that for you with lots of nice walks. Locals are friendly and happy to chat with you, if in the Fife area then stop by and see for yourself, well worth a visit.
Lovely little fishing village, still has little old village sweet shop on the front. St Fillans Cave worth a visit.
A traditional Scottish fishing harbour, with a small commercial fleet at anchor. A pleasant walk around the harbour and water front.
Nice to see a traditional working harbour for fishermen even though it was Sunday there was a lot of activity it is a good walk round the harbour to see everything
