Stopped off for a drink after the climb up Snowdon. I was told that Stefan was a great guy. What an absolute genuine man! Made all three of us feel very welcome. Told us a few stories. I could have stayed there for longer!
Smashing man!
Thank you Stefan ????
Great service... Staff was so friendly and welcoming, we was waiting for our friend and he just sat and chatted to us whilst we waited as wasnt busy at that time ,he gave us some location to visit.
Lovely hot chocholate and Welsh teacakes are lovely.
You can buy tshirts and jumpers at the shop.
Thank you so much for making the end of our trip up snowden today even better.
Back in November 2022, we met the owner walking his dogs in the morning but didn't realise until he went inside his cafe at the end of our walk! He was very helpful and showed us the way to go, as it was our first time walking Snowdon.
7 hours later, after terenchal weather conditions to the peak had battered us- we stopped off to rest. It was advised to go back down by experienced hikers that day! Stefans hospitality was second to none, to all that entered his cafe. There were people there, like us, freezing and soaked through, but Stefan gave us all a hot drink each and a bin bag to put out wet clothes on for the drive home. The hot chocolate was gorgeous and just what we needed to give us that boost!
It was a day I'll never forget. We got engaged at the top of Snowdon and found this little gem, which we will be back to visit again in the future :) Thanks Stefan!
After a long walk up Snowdon, I was thankful to land here in the capable hands of Steffan - a very friendly and welcoming man. We had a wonderful chat, and he gave lots of tips and advice about the area, on the back of newspaper which he kindly gave me to keep. I had a hot chocolate and it must be on of the best I have had in many years - restoring life into my body! Hope to return to this beautiful area one day and return to catch up.
After a miserable walk up Snowdon and having to admit defeat with the weather conditions, our spirits were lifted when we visited this cafe. We were greeted with such warmth and care by the loveliest man, we were immediately offered a hot drink and to sit by the fire. He also gave us a bag to put all of our wet clothes in. He genuinely cheered us up and ‘saved our lives’ as we put it???????????? (fyi, we are the teachers from the north east????)
Amazing place and an amazing owner. We came off the mountain late as we were a little slower than we thought. Stefan the owner was locking up however opened up for us, and sorted us hot chocolate, tea and cider for me!! He also showed us round, chatted with us by the fire and sorted a taxi for us. He was the epitome of what a host should be and we couldn’t have asked for more after summiting Snowdon.
When we return next year we shall definitely visit again, perhaps slightly earlier in the day though!!
Looking forward to the Real Fires and the Chat with Stephan -
Just ascended yr Wyddfa - and descending via Llanberis path just to pop in for my customary Welsh Beer. Only to find Stephan advising they were closed when he was serving someone i think. My party of 4 were soaked - so had to continue into Llanberis .
Signs saying "OPEN" all around.
Update:
Some feed back from Stephan as to why was "closed" 330/4pm Thursday 11 April 2024 - seems fair - but he just said we are closed and that was it!
Would of contacted Stephan separately but website gone and no email address or number to call - apols if needed Stephan.
Not sure when i will be back in Eryri - but i will be sure to pop in and say S'mae / Hello. Another Photo from a visit August 2016 and Stephan said hello Paul!! enjoying a Celtica bought at Penceunant Isaf (the other bottle - after carrying up and down the Cwrw Eryri from Bragdy Mws Piws)
I had a meeting to attend on teams. I ha e requested to arrange WiFi a separate/private place for me to attend. The gentleman was such a lovely and helpful individual that arranged everything. Such a kind a d selfless person. Was talking to every visitor as a family. Loved this place, I would recommend anyone visits wales should pop in to this amazing place with amazing people. Thanks ????
