I stayed here after a hike up Scafell Pike with some mates, and I wasn't sure what to expect. However, when we arrived, the chef greeted us, gave us our room key, and took our breakfast orders. The rooms were great, the food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had a fantastic night's sleep, and in the morning, a lovely well-cooked breakfast was placed in front of us. Once again, the chef was super pleasant, working hard to ensure all guests felt welcome and catered to. I would definitely recommend this stay for anyone near the Lakes or any surrounding area to the hotel. It's well-priced too.
Been to Parkside Hotel tonight for food. First of all they were extremely accommodating as we didn't call for a table until we'll after 8 o clock and they fit us in no problem what so ever. The service was brilliant. The lady that served us was quick, polite, pleasant and extremely professional. The food arrived in record time and can only be described as bloody tremendous. I got Surf and Turf and Gary got the Paraide burger. Both absolutely top quality and beyond delicious! The chef even come out to have a little chat and introduce himself. All I all it was an absolute pleasure! Could not recommend enough.
Fantastic food and service will definitely be back. The kids loved the food, and there was plenty of it. The staff are friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble and they catered for our daughter and her needs. I had the Sunday lunch and the beef was absolutely beautiful.
This is a return stay for us. Location is perfect. The rooms are reasonably priced and the food is excellent. We had the Tomahawk steak it was delicious. Looking forward to our return.
Booked the Parkside for a birthday meal for myself and my husband. We were very impressed by the service and the menu range, especially the gluten free options. Nothing was too much trouble. This was one of the nicest meals out that we have had in a while. Will definitely be returning.
Really poor || First the positives, room was ok, bathroom was modern, plenty of hot water and breakfast was good. Bar staff and chef were lovely.||But this was all overshadowed by continual problems with the heating in our room. We got there at 3.30pm after booking well in advance. We were showed the room and it was really cold. Manager apologised and when to put the heating on. ( a switch behind the bar downstairs) ||We went out with friends and returned at 10pm to find the hotel in darkness and the heating in our room was off and the room was freezing. It was minus 5 outside, unbearable. ||Heating was on in the corridor but not the rooms. Someone had accidentally turned the heating switch off behind the bar, locked up and left.||There was no staff or management in the hotel overnight so we were left to fend for ourselves. We had to sleep fully clothed. I couldn’t sleep so from 4am started ringing the hotel phone number hoping it would divert to someone’s mobile, but no.||The manager could not apologise enough next day, but not enough to offer a refund or buy us a drink when we were in the bar on Saturday.||We woke up on Sunday morning and yes the heating was off again. Unbelievable.||Also, the hotel football team had a party downstairs on the Saturday night and some of them were drunk and were running up and down the stairs to ‘see who was stopping here’ ||There should be a security door to keep guests way from the public at night.||Absolutely not good enough.
Fantastic stay. Staff couldn't be more friendly. Stayed just after the new chef joined, top notch scran, will definitely be going back.
Was amazing as you can see the food was sooo nice. Lovely stuff really enjoyed our night. And NOT over priced foe the food. We booked a table but there was no need to do so. Try it for yourself
