Best KPortal Reviews
We've just been to the tapas evening and the place was buzzing with friendliness, joy and the anticipation of good food, which didn't disappoint. So lovely to find a small independent going above and beyond to create a fantastic experience for locals and those tourists who are lucky enough to find out in advance. The range of dishes was well balanced, beautifully cooked, made from local ingredients wherever possible and tasted sublime. Can't wait for the next tapas evening, we've already booked!
Lovely little cafe, superb chocolates served with each cuppa! Occasionally they do tapas evenings - definitely worth a visit!
From the outside it looked nice but unfortunately my wife and I were made to feel completely unwelcome here - so much so that we decided to find somewhere else.
We asked if they were still serving brunch, and the lady responded dismissively with “well what do you want?” We asked what they were serving for brunch - she then mumbled a reply and physically turned her back on us to do something else. It was such an odd experience.
We left feeling rubbish. How could I ever recommend this place? Hopefully the manager will see the reviews about the poor customer service and do something quickly about it.
Maybe we’ll give this cafe a second chance in a few months time in the hope it’s improved.
Unfortunately we have been extremely disappointed here today. We didn't receive a hello or a smile, just greeted with 'we aren't doing any more food'. Fair enough, despite being before 2.30, but we figured we'd just have coffee and cake to keep us going. After ordering...which took a few minutes as the girls were busy chatting in the kitchen...I was then informed that's fine but we close soon. We ended up taking our order away because quite frankly we were made to feel very unwelcome. The cherry shortbread was extremely soft and not particularly nice, but we did at least enjoy the coffee.
Staff said they ran out of several breakfast ingredients by 11am, but then the lady who said this went to the Co-op next door to buy bread after we'd ordered? These were basic ingredients you could get next door..Very unhelpful, rude and even when some food came it wasn't as expected.
Rude staff. Our son is celiac and when my wife asked if there were any other gluten free options the waitress rolled her eyes, went to the kitchen and returned with a rude 'No.' We've popped up the road instead to a much more friendly welcome.
Lovely family run cafe and yummy cakes! Menu has lots of good options too????????
Lovely place, with welcoming helpful staff. Me being celiac they sorted out what I could have as a traditional breakfast with some gf bread which they keep, added on extra bacon for the lack of the sausage which was fantastic!
We popped back later on a very hot Saturday afternoon and enjoyed very refreshing smoothies.
Highly recommended ????
