Me and the wife happen to be in Warrington town center yesterday. We came across New Cod On The Block. This is a no frills establishment, with an old school cafe vibe. If you like a healthy portion of chips and gravy or just a cup of tea this place does the trick.
I had “the meal” which consisted of meat and potato pie, chips & gravy, a jug of tea, two slices of bread, and peas for £6.50 ????
All very tasty, good honest grub.& the staff were lovely genuine folk????
Absolutely awful! £16 for greasy fish and burger and greasy uncooked chips. They were soggy and full of oil....they should be fined for the extra health risk put on to the NHS! How can the take away chippy down the road know how to cook the exact same food but perfectly and they can't! My husband will be saying the same about his burger...

Fish had been in warmer to long or refried ? It had hard batter extremely over cooked . Chips not good at all , can’t really go wrong with peas .
Coffee extremely weak. Can Diet Coke great ! No glass overed .

Had a few meals here now just to make sure it's not a good day for food. The food is just brilliant I've had the salt and pepper chicken and chips a couple of times now and it's one of the best places for taste and size, they are very generous.
Me and my son were in town to watch the"Wire" v London. Ordered two large fish and chip dinners and two coffees. Both spot on and the service was prompt and friendly.????
I tried curry rice today. Yes, it is curry rice in this family style fish&chips shop. I like my rice is totally covered by curry chicken. Kind of katsu curry. I may be biased as I miss Asian food so much.
Came here today with my family and we were not disappointed we were greeted at the door staff polite friendly and happy ordered salt& pepper chicken came with rice & a pot of curry sauce , brother ordered sausage chips& gravy got a kids meal for my niece portion sizes are very good and very reasonably priced food was delicious, it’s a shame we don’t live nearer because this would be are first port of call . Best chippy we have had in a long time.
Went for the first time today, food was nice served, didn't wait long, prices were good. I recommend.
