We could not have wished for a better mechanic than James! Our camper van broke down on the way from Portsmouth to Manchester and he came out to us about 15 minutes after calling him, diagnosed the problem and worked solidly for over an hour on it. It was not possible to fix it there and then as the turbo needed replacing, but he ordered us a new one and fit it the day it arrived. He was also took on a number of other jobs we had been planning to do when we got home, and completed them to the highest standard before offering to take the van to its MOT for us, where for the first time ever it passed right away!! He took the time to explain carefully to us (people who don't know anything about mechanics) what he was doing and why and cost the various options up in advance - in the end, the bill was much cheaper than what we would have paid at a garage, I'm sure! We felt confident at every stage that he really knew what he was doing and only wanted the best for our much loved camper. He also dropped the van off in a convenient location for us to pick up when he had finished which was extremely kind and helpful of him. Our dog would also like to leave a 5* review of his cuddles.

What an amazing and knowledgeable man, I called M.R autos on Tuesday afternoon and he had the old part out and the new part in by the next day! A job that would have taken me days! He went above and beyond to get my car running, as I explained that I am in the forces and deploying and need to drive up to Scotland on Friday. can’t thank him enough. He is definitely my go to man now.

Not one for leaving a review on anything normally, I feel it lends even more weight to this review. I can only say that I contacted James about the issue I was having with my Motorhome as a last resort. I now realise that he should have been the first one I called, and should have been on my speed dial list; he will be from now on. He and is Team were amazing and very professional. Most importantly, the diagnosis James said straight off was spot on, and my Motorhome is running like a dream

James is by far the best mechanic I’ve ever had help me. I genuinely can’t recommend him enough.

The semi-automatic gearbox on my family car had failed and I contacted James to ask him to move it to a specialist transmission repair company as most garages wouldn’t touch it. James couldn’t do the date I needed so instead he gave me advice on how I could potentially get the car into neutral so that I could save myself some money with a different recovery company. Given how decent and knowledgeable James was I changed my plans and asked him to look at the gearbox instead. James collected the car, stripped the gearbox and gave me a good quote for repair. Unfortunately, the car wasn’t economically worth fixing (just because of it’s age and mileage), but rather than just leave me to deal with the problem James helped me to sell the car for scrap. James couldn’t have been more helpful or any kinder than he was. I’ll never go anywhere else.

I highly recommend M.R Autos and wouldn't use anyone else. James does all the work on our vehicles and always provides us with a great service and fits us in even when he is busy. Great company to deal with.
