I've just come home from a break in Hemsby with family, and we decided to get a takeaway from Monty's Fish and Chips shop as it was highly rated. Everything was cooked fresh from scratch, and although this took slightly longer than usual, the staff were super friendly and kept checking in with us to tell us how long the food would be. They even gave us a free curry sauce and a couple bottles of coke which was lovely. The food was amazing, not greasy at all and the fish was perfectly cooked. If we ever venture back into Hemsby we will definitely return :)
We were staying in Hemsby as a family of 8 . We called in here for fish and chips with a couple of sausages and one child's meal .The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh and huge portions. The staff were so nice, friendly and helpful giving us free sauces etc and even a couple of bottles of free coke . We took food away, but the sit-down area looked so inviting, too. Would definitely recommend visiting here on a regular basis .

A great chip shop packed full of great tasting items on the menu at a good price. Look out for the deals or ask.
The fish and the chips are good but for me it's about the pies.
Do check when they are open as they are not open every day

My experience of Montys, was flawless.
Staff actually looked like they enjoyed working there, were polite and professional.
Best fish and chips I have ever had, bar none.
Cod was perfectly cook, batter was crispy, like a tempura.
Regular cod, chips and tartar sauce was £11.65, which, size and quality, is totally worth it in my opinion.
I do not live local, BUT, if I am ever down that way again, I would 100% go out of my way, and take a detour to eat there again.
Called in Monty's today for the first while in hemsby.fantastic place.
The food was first class and cooked to perfection.
Not grease to be seen and the portion sizes also fantastic.
Staff very polite and very helpful ,and didn't have to wait long for the food to be table served.
Most importantly excellent value for money.
We will certainly be calling back,and would highly recommend Monty's to all holiday makers.
What a perfect place ,such friendly staff ,let my dog in and even brought him a sausage I would defo recommend this place the staff totally went the extra mile for us not just a bog standard chip shop and the food was amazing.hats off to you you made me and my doggies day today !!
A few weeks ago I got in contact with Craig the owner of Monty’s with a huge request. We were a huge group of 185 people coming on kids rugby tour staying in Hemsby. We needed food for the Saturday evening that had proven difficult to arrange from anyone else. Craig was more than happy to help us out with a great selection of food for all adults and kids. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He made sure that all dietary requirements were met for those with dairy, soya and gluten allergies and provided fantastic options for all. The price was so reasonable and the portions were an excellent size. As much as I wanted to, I couldn’t quite finish my fish and chips!!! Also, it’s the tastiest curry sauce I’ve had in ages!!
The organisation from Craig and his team of fabulous workers was amazing. His lovely son was there to organise all the boxes so kids were fed first and adults next. The whole team were friendly and chatty and I honestly can’t fault them. The food was hot, fresh and delicious and we received lots of compliments from our many rugby members.
We cannot thank Craig and his team enough for an amazing 5 star service for us. If you need mass catering or are just in Hemsby for fish and chips, Craig/Monty’s will not let you down. If I make it back to Hemsby I will 100% be back.
