Been the last few months back and forward to try to get blood pressure sorted go in yesterday to try and get tablets as going away to be told the doctor is not looking at it till the 16 th may . Explain again I was going away and had no tables left was told that there was nothing they could do to help me . Sorry this is not acceptable this is life threatening. So hopefully I don't have a hart attack in the next 3 weeks waiting for a call . This country is broken . Where is common sense gone
Total joke of a place. Doctor was meant to call me on a phone consultation yesterday but never phoned a phone consultation would be pointless but the fact that I never received the call after waiting all day and being on hold for 45 minutes in the morning annoyed me but what annoyed me the most is that the doctor said he did call just before closing time witch is a total lie as my phone was not out my hand all day waiting for the call and the doctor number never rang
What has to be wrong before you get taken seriously? Dead ?
I never ever have to call doctors and this is the out come of using a service that is failed
I’m not an anxious person but the thought of calling this place seriously tips me over the edge. 99% of the times I wait on hold for around 45 minutes then when I get to number 2 in the queue, it disconnects me. If I am “lucky” enough to get through I have to brace myself for battle with the receptionists (one in particular who’s name rhymes with Dilma!) I can’t fathom why anyone who clearly hates humanity as much as she does works in a customer service role?! Especially a role where she’s dealing with unwell and vulnerable people. I’ve been pushed to get private healthcare purely to avoid these receptionists and be allowed access to medical care if I ever need it.
I hope that you never find yourself ill enough to need the services here. You won't get appointments unless you call at precisely 8:30 in the morning and even if you are lucky enough to get through, you are faced with a receptionist with no medical qualifications deciding if you are in a poor enough state to get an appointment at all.
I'd give it 0 stars if i could. I have NEVER dealt with such horrible receptionists. Rude and belittling. I will be placing a complaint. Disgusting!!
Been trying for 3 weeks to talk to someone, got to number 2 in the Q then cut off..my repeat meds are a mess with items constantly missing, depending on who answers ur call can either put ur anxiety through the roof or be a ok call. Being a public service some need to remember that they are dealing with the public who are calling for a reason and it’s not their place to judge.
Third worst doctors surgery in Scotland, and it shows. Reception staff decide who sees medical professionals, unqualified reception staff. Three week wait for appointments, if you can get one. New chief GP who is so high handed it’s very off putting. Find another practice if you can, this one is atrocious
It was already a tiresome process to get an appointment here before COVID.
Now it is even worse - the only way to book an appointment is via the website or phone. The "consultancy" on the website just tells me to phone the GP but when I try to phone them, I'm on hold FOR 1 HOUR STRAIGHT and still nothing.
The only good thing about this place is that all the doctors I've ever met we're extremely kind and helpful, same goes to most of the reception staff and nurses.
[Update one year later]
My fiance is struggling with a depression since Covid, so she reached out to Mintlaw GP to help her. She was promised a call with a doctor IN 3 WEEKS.
On the day of the call, my fiance was waiting all day and guess what - no one called her.
Absolute joke of a place.
