Been going to this chippy for around 3 years and it has gradually got worse with each visit. After our most recent visit, prime time at 7 oclock on a Friday, we couldn't believe how poor the quality of the food was. 1 large chips was a child's portion, curry sauce was watery and lacked any taste, the mushy peas were a disgrace - literally peas in some green water. 15 minute wait for chips (this was fine by us) but it wasn't through a busy queue, the chips weren't ready and we had to remind them of our order 4x whilst waiting. It's not difficult to get a piece of paper out and write it down. It's a shame as we have had some lovely meals here over the years. I would advise doing more chicken wings and start cooking pork sausages and not beef!
Wonderful fish and chips, with lovely service. Good value for money also.
They cook the fish fresh which is good.
But the chips were only warm by the time I got home about 400M away.
I think there must be something wrong with their warming cabinet although the chips were okay.
Still not too bad on a cold Winters night
We used to visit all the time for good portions and freshly cooked fish. Now, the fish is still cooked fresh and tasted OK, but it is tiny (this was a LARGE portion), chips were dry, the box half empty (used to be full, the lid would barely close). I asked immediately as I felt the box was too light so I opened it - but the seller claimed it IS large (yes, the box, but not its contents)!
The quality control of fish and chips leaving this place is terrible. The fish still had the black skin beneath the batter and the chips were very old which had been fried with the sprouting eyes still visible.
Top food and great customer service. I used to go to a chippy in Queen’s Park. That chippy by the queens park station was legendary. But, having tried this one, it easily beats that. It’s a plus to dine in. Will be coming again pretty soon guys ????????
Pretty average - the cod had a lot of bones in it which made it difficult to eat, and a lot of the chips were quite soggy
