Fantastic battered sausage and chips, best we have had in a long time. Staff very friendly and even gave us napkins so we could enjoy them locally ????
just moved to the village and wow what a terrible experience my chips must of been from Monday, today is Wednesday lunchtime ???? chips was so overcooked and dried out no taste or colour no wonder he wrapped them under the counter, sausages was dried out and i had to warm up my pie as it was so cold on the bottom lucky my land lady had a microwave but i had to warm it up for so long the pastry went soft???? feel like I've just wasted my money should of caught the bus to Basingstoke, I always like to get takeaway
and support the local businesses like the amazing village bakery which cakes are always soft and delicious and pies always hot like they should be, Wil not be back to this fish and chip shop
I've recently found out that they serve kebabs, so I went to try it out. Very good with good chilli sauce. As it was empty (no reflection on the food etc.), I was allowed to eat in.
Just had fish and chips here and it was terrible. Really hard and chewy chips. Fish was very greasy and making the box extremely soggy with oil. We got fish that was totally tasteless. The only saving grace was the batter was quite thin and light. But overall terrible fish and chips a complete let down.
Last time I bought fish and chips from Mariners they were lovely hence my return. However today my complete order was awful (except for 2 battered sausages). Both portions of cod were equivalent to 2x two fish fingers in lots of greasy batter. The chips were cold and chewy and ended in the bin. I think all the food had been sat around for hours. I won't be going there again. So the food didn't go to waste our poor cat ended up eating the scraps :o/
Not great at all, had plaice and chips, more batter than fish which was soggy and yuk, and chips were cold old weird bits wrapped up with chips between the wraps also, that got missed probably while rushing, and just gross.
Should actually take one of those stars away but can't now in the app.
Staff were friendly tho, cost just over 12 quid
Would rather travel all the away to Basingtoke or Andover to buy good F&C.
That wasn't a large cod it was a whale ! Delicious too. Chicken was tasty and moist. Plenty of chips for two in large portion. Excellent meal.
