Paul es muy amable, atento y respetuoso. La casa La Perla tiene una hermosa vista, el mejor patio trasero con galería y una sala de estar muy acogedora. Si bien no está perfectamente aislada para el frío, Paul pone a disposición todo lo que necesites. No tiene prácticamente wifi. Es muy lento y casi sin señal en toda la casa. Pero compramos un router LTE y una línea Vodafone en el centro comercial. Eso anduvo perfecto para trabajar y tener videoconferencias.
Buen alojamiento gente encantadora, lovely people
After staying in Los Castillejos over the winter with my family (wife, 9 months old son and 56 year old mother), I must say this is a real exceptional place to be. Exceptional not just because you have supermarkets and restaurants in close distance but exceptional because you can meet very interesting people and spend your time in a very quiet, welcoming remote place with wonderful views. In addition, Paul the host is one of the most interesting people I met in my life, who would always go the extra mile to satisfy the needs and wants of his guests; If he is not to busy hosting all the guests in his village, he might have some time for you to tell you about the history of the surrounding areas, take you for amazing hikes or organize get togethers for the whole village.
But anyhow you are going to find a lot of opportunities to spend your time here without his attention like hikes, bike rides, city tours, the beach or guided tours with local people.
I personally would highly recommend visiting this place, it has its very own rustic charm and you need to be prepared to heat with a wood stove and you need to be capable of walking well because accessing areas are steep. If you are used to 4*+ hostels it is a welcomed change but do not expect a 4*+ hotel here; But rather old historic farm houses, affectionately well restored with wonderful surrounding nature and views.

I can only speak as having been a guest at a party here. The meeting room isn't large but quirky and intimate. Plenty of outside area and a covered balcony. Adjacent kitchen for guest use . There are also casitas for rent and a pool. There isn't a great deal of parking space though.
Ein wenig abseits gelegenes mini Dorf mit separaten Häusern und gemeinsamen Pool. Die Häuser sind einfach ausgestattet, haben keine Klimaanlage. Gekocht wird mit Gas.
Die Unterbringungen sind sauber, die Ausstattung ist aber alt.
In der Nähe (den Weg weiter nach oben) befindet sich ein gutes Grill Restaurant.
Beautiful place, great food. I was there on a songwriting retreat. It is an excellent place for retreats. We all had a wonderful time and I really hope to come back.
Es war eine tolle Zeit, wir haben uns sehr Wohlgefühl. Die Ausstattung ist sehr rustikal (aber mit Charme) und auf Nachfrage haben wir alles bekommen, was vielleicht gerade in der Küche an Utensilien gefehlt hat.
Was in der Beschreibung nicht so gut erkennbar war, dass in dieser Unterkunft sehr (!) viele Treppen vorhanden und diese sehr ungleich/hoch sind - daher für kleine Kinder nicht die beste Eigenschaft.
Der Pool war sehr sauber und man genießt von ihm einen tollen Blick.
Von der Lage war es perfekt, 30 min zum Strand nach Torrox oder Nerja und ca 60 min nach Málaga oder Granda.
Im Dorf selbst gab es einen tollen Bäcker, mit dem man sein Morgensport verbinden konnte, denn dieser liegt 20 min Bergaufwärts.
Ein kleines Highlight war das wöchentliche Paella essen bei dem Paul persönlich für das ganze „Feriendorf“ gekocht hat und abends alles zusammen mit mitgebrachten Getränken gegessen haben.
